CLUTCH Joins Forces With HELLYEAH For North American Tour - Tourdates Available!
Maryland rockers CLUTCH are teaming up with HELLYEAH for a North American Co-Headlining Tour this Spring. Both bands will play full headlining sets. The tour kicks off April 13th in Providence, Rhode Island and runs through May 11th in Joliet, Illinois. Throughout the tour there will also be dates that feature Clutch only and Hellyeah only as well as radio festivals and shows. A list of complete dates can be found below.
Hard rock supergroup HELLYEAH is touring in support of their NEW album 'Band of Brothers' which is scheduled for a June 5th release in North America. The album, the band's first effort for their NEW label home, Eleven Seven Music, was recorded in Dallas at drummer Vinnie Paul's home studio, VP's Upstairs Studio, and was produced by the band and Jeremy Parker (Godsmack, Evanessence), who also served as engineer.
Having produced track after track of heavy-hitting, in-your-face, feel good Rock N' Roll on their previous two albums (2010's 'Stampede' and 2007's self-titled debut), 'Band of Brothers' sees HELLYEAH taking a slightly different musical direction. Drawing on their former bands' collective Metal roots for inspiration, the influences and style of Pantera, Mudvayne, Damageplan and Nothingface are immediately recognizable.
CLUTCH is hitting the road in support of their double vinyl edition of 'Blast Tyrant' which is being released February 28th via Weathermaker Music. This 180+ gram expanded vinyl contains 16 songs and includes six mini-posters taken straight from Blast Tyrant's "Atlas of the Invisible World". Each illustrated poster is sized (8.5" x 11") and depicts one of the various characters featured within the Blast Tyrant storyline. Prior to February 28th, the double vinyl edition of 'Blast Tyrant' is exclusively available via Clutch Merch.com. CLUTCH will also be releasing a picture disc single of the NEW track "Pigtown Blues" on April 24th. This is the first NEW studio material from CLUTCH since 2009's 'Strange Cousins From the West'.
CLUTCH will also be returning to Europe this festival season. The band has been confirmed for the Sonisphere Festival in Madrid Spain on May 26th and the Peace and Love Festival in Borlänge, Sweden on June 29th. Additional festival appearances are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
In other CLUTCH news, the band's music will be featured in the soon to be released film "The Baytown Disco" starring Andre Braugher, Billy Bob Thornton, and Eva Longoria. A six minute preview of the film can, featuring CLUTCH music can be viewed below. And for all you hockey fans, CLUTCH's "Electric Worry" is still the goal music for the Vancouver Canucks. Rex Brown Discusses NEW Band KILL DEVIL HILL, Lays The Truth About DOWN & Says There Will Never Be A PANTERA Reunion!
Rex Brown is not only one of the best bassists in Heavy Music history, but also a man that never bites his tongue. We recently had the chance to chat with Rex about his NEW band KILL DEVIL HILL, who will be releasing their debut album on March 27th via SPV/Steamhammer. The bands self-titled album offers the listener a soundtrack full of power, soul and plenty of groove. On this NEW project, Rex is joined by legendary drummer Vinny Appice, guitarist Mark Zavon, and vocalist Dewey Bragg.
During our exclusive interview with Rex, we also discussed the legacy of PANTERA, the band that saved Heavy Music in the early 90's thanks to their vulgar display of crushing Metal. Their phenomenal 10 studio albums, were only topped by their amazing stage show. When PANTERA came to town, nobody was safe and their explosive live show left many Panteraheads scarred for life! They say that glory always has a very high prize to pay, in the case of the Kings Of Metal this is an understatement.
We also talked to Rex about his current health condition and why he decided to leave DOWN. Without further dude, here is our exclusive interview with Rex Brown!
Stay tuned for further information about KILL DEVIL HILL.

EXHUMED Forced To Pull The Plug On Brazilian Tour!
Due to unforeseen visa issues, California ministers of gore EXHUMED have been forced to cancel their previously scheduled dates in Brazil this week with Aborted.
Comments vocalist/guitarist Matt Harvey: “We are totally weakened to have to cancel our Brazilian dates. Due to our visa applications getting rejected, we cannot legally enter the country at this time -- in fact, they threatened to ban us from being there for a decade. We are doing everything we can to reschedule these dates as soon as possible. Due to the bullshit policies of U.S. immigration/customs and Brazilian customs' policy of reciprocity, our visas were refused by the Brazilian consulate before even being processed. We seriously and very sincerely apologize to all our friends in Brazil who wanted to see the band. We will do everything in our power to work with our agent, the promoter, and the immigration assholes in the U.S. and Brazil to get this squared away. This is a serious bummer. We will spend the extra week before heading to Europe looking at hot Brazilian chicks on the Internet instead of in real life and being really, really pissed off.”
EXHUMED will kick off the 16-date "Grind Over Europe Tour" with Rotten Sound and Magrudergrind on February 24, then join Anaal Nathrakh for a short run of U.K. dates. From there, the band will take their audio menace stateside for a handful of headlining shows before jumping on a near month-long bout of U.S. dates with death Metal icons Cannibal Corpse! Joined by labelmates Abysmal Dawn and Arkaik, the live rituals will commence on April 5 in Jacksonville, Florida and include an appearance at the The Cincinnati Metal Fest on April 14 as well as a special show on April 28 where the brutal caravan will merge with the Decibel Magazine tour featuring Behemoth, Watain, The Devil’s Blood and In Solitude.

IRON MAIDEN Announce The "Maiden England" North American Tour - Video Available!
Legendary Heavy Metal band Iron Maiden, has just announced that they will be returning to North America for what they have dubbed as the "Maiden England" Tour! Support will come from none other than Alice Cooper, who will be their special guest up until July 21st. From that date one, Coheed and Cambria will take over as direct support for Iron Maiden.
The "Maiden England" tour will kick off in Charlotte, North Carolina on June 21 and will conclude in Houston, Texas on August 18th (see below for more tour dates), to be followed by further dates around the world in 2013. The band is stoked to be performing in various cities that they have not visited in years! Here is what Maiden's vocalist Bruce Dickinson had to say about this epic tour:
"We have great fun playing the history of MAIDEN tours because it gives us an opportunity between new albums to go out and play songs from our earlier catalogue. It's always fantastic seeing the crowd reaction from a new generation of fans who have never experienced some of these tracks performed live before, and of course we know our longstanding fans will enjoy seeing the original 'Seventh Son Tour' revisited — with many other surprises! Our intention is to play about two thirds of the original track list of 'Maiden England', including some songs we have not played live in a very,very long time, plus other favourites we just know the fans are going to want to hear! We always try to give our fans a great show musically, but we have always tried to make it as entertaining and memorable an experience as we can visually. And we all feel this show is going to do that splendidly! We can't wait to get started in Charlotte."
In most venues, tickets will go on sale on March 2 and March 3 but watch the band's official site or check local venue information for fuller details. Fan-club members should check out Ironmaiden.com for exclusive first day ticket presales and contest to be "First To The Barrier."
Stay tuned for more information and see you in the pit!

Another one of our Heavy Metal warriors has cease to exist. It has been confirmed by the Finish Heavy Metal band Lordi that their drummer 'Otus' Tonmi Lillman has passed away at the age of 38. Our condolences go to his family, friends, band-mates, and fans. Here is the bands official statement:
"Our dear friend and bandmate, 'Otus' Tonmi Lillman, has sadly passed away [at the age of 38]. He will be greatly missed and we send our condolences to his family and friends.
"Otus: we thank You from the bottom of our hearts for the short time we got to know you and spend with you together. Rest in peace, friend."
Due to the fact that the members of LORDI wear masks all the time in order to keep their personal identities private, Lillman's status as a member of LORDI had never been publicly acknowledged until now. Lillman joined Lordi in October of 2010 as the replacement from Kita, after Kita was fired. 'Otus' Tonmi Lillman will be missed by the entire Heavy Music community.

Update From SLAYER's Drummer Dave Lombardo About Bands NEW Album!
Slayer's badass drummer Dave Lombardo has made the following Facebook post regarding the NEW album from the Thrash Metal legends:
"We have seven kick-ass songs" written for the group's next studio album. He adds, "You're going to soil your pants!"
Recently, Jenn Selby of The Quietus conducted an interview with Tom Araya, frontman of SLAYER, while Artisan News spoke with SLAYER guitarist Kerry King! When asked about the status of the NEW SLAYER album, this is what they had to say.
"We've had a few drawbacks, but we are attempting to work on the NEW material," said Araya. "Kerry [King, guitar] and Dave [Lombardo, drums] have been doing that. And me, because I'm sick, I don't want to fly out and make everybody sick, so my joining in the process is going to be on pause until I get better. But there's something there.
"We got back out [on the road] May 25 in Europe, then we'll be back in the States, of course," said Kerry King. "Hopefully we'll get in the studio to record [the new CD] before then, 'cause it's time-consuming. We're looking to get in March and April, so hopefully be done [recording] by the time [we have to go back out on tour]."
"All four of us have agreed that the guy that we want to record our NEW record will be the same gentleman who recorded our last album (Greg Fidelman co-produced 2009's 'World Painted Blood' with Rick Rubin)," Araya said. "We just had a really great experience with him last time, loved the sound, and, if we can make our timings match up, we would love to record with him again. We'll probably bring him in towards the end of the writing process, which is what we did last time."
Araya also spoke about Hanneman's current state of health.
"Jeff is recording and writing with us on the album," Araya said. "He can still play, and he is rehearsing with us. It's just that he needs to get his chops up before he joins us live again... We have to take it one day at a time. He has the ability to play, but he needs to really work at it. So we have to make sure he's at his best before he comes out and tours with us. But yeah, we want him out and on the road with us."
As previously reported, SLAYER will be co-headlining the 2012 ROCKSTAR ENERGY DRINK MAYHEM FESTIVAL:

SIX FEET UNDER Announces NEW Bassist!
Last week, it was announced that former Chimaira guitarist Matt DeVries decided to leave Six Feet Under to pursue other musical endeavors. Those other musical endeavors? Yesterday, it was announced the DeVries has joined Industrial Metallers Fear Factory!
Today, Six Feet Under announced that seven-string bassist Jeff Hughell, formerly of the Santa Cruz, California technical Death Metal band Brain Drill and Concord, California Death Metal group Vile, as well as a current member of Reciprocal, is the bands NEW bassist! This is what vocalist Chris Barnes had to say about this:
"Six Feet Under is proud to announce our NEW member, bass player Jeff Hughell. He's an amazing musician and I have been a fan of his work since first hearing BRAIN DRILL a few years back. We feel with the addition of Jeff, all the puzzle pieces are in place and the killing machine known as SIX FEET UNDER is now a true Death Metal force to be reckoned with! Prepare to be toe tagged and body bagged."
Added Jeff Hughell, "I am honored to be the newest edition to the mighty Six Feet Under. This band is now a well oiled killing machine with Kevin Talley and myself as the rhythm section, Steve Swanson and Rob Arnold crushing guitars, and, of course, the man himself Chris Barnes killing it on vocals. The NEW material is the heaviest Six Feet Under songs I have ever heard and I can't wait for the world to get their faces melted clean off by it. I would like to thank Mike Faley, Kelli Malella and the whole Six Feet Under family for thinking of me. It's going to be one hell of a ride!"
At current time Six Feet Under is mixing their NEW album at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Mark Lewis (The Black Dahilia Murder, Whitechapel, DevilDriver, Trivium).
SIX FEET UNDER's touring lineup:
* Chris Barnes - Vocals
* Rob Arnold - Guitar
* Kevin Talley - Drums
