There has been a lot going on with BLACK SABBATH ever since they announced on 11/11/11 that the original lineup was rejoining forces. Today, the band announced that they have canceled their European tour, in order for Tony Iommi to be able to continue with his ongoing treatment for lymphoma. BLACK SABBATH will appear at the Download Festival in Donnington, UK.
In order to fill the void that would have been left by the cancellation of the tour, OZZY & Friends will be taking SABBATH's place. The shows will include guest appearances by Geezer Butler, Slash, Zakk Wylde, and many more!
As far as the NEW SABBATH record, Iommi plans to continue working with his bandmates on this highly anticipated project.

Entitled 'Apocalyptic Love' is set to be released on May 22nd via Slash's own label Dik Hayd International distributed through EMI and it will be the followup to his 2010 debut album, "Slash", and his November 2011 first-ever live solo album, the two-CD/DVD set "Made In Stoke 24/7/11".
On his latest musical creation, Slash — along with and his bandmates Myles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums) and Todd Kerns (bass) — teamed up with producer Eric Valentine, who also produced the Slash's debut solo album. Also on April 11, The GRAMMY Museum, next door to Club Nokia, will open its NEW exhibit Golden Gods: The History of Heavy Metal. Hosting duties for the GOLDEN GODS awards show will be handled by FOZZY frontman and WWE pro-wrestling legend Chris Jericho, who returns for the third consecutive year. The nominees in 11 different categories, plus the recipient of this year’s prestigious “Golden God Award,” were revealed today at a press conference held at the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles. The Golden God Award, given to one special honoree a year who embodies the spirit of Hard Rock and mMetal, will go to KISS demon Gene Simmons, whose band will release their highly anticipated 20th studio album, “Monster,” this year. (Previous honorees include Hard Rock and Metal legends Alice Cooper, Rob Halford of JUDAS PRIEST and Dave Mustaine of MEGADETH). As previously announced, Heavy Metal guitarist Tony Iommi has been diagnosed with Lymphoma. Lymphoma is a cancer of the lymphocytes (a type of cell that forms part of the immune system). Iommi (63) and his doctors are currently working on the best treatment possible-the “IRON MAN” of Rock N' Roll remains upbeat and determined to make a full and successful recovery.
