WATAIN Frontman Comments On Upcoming Decibel Tour With BEHEMOTH!
As previously announced, Swedish Black Metal miscreants WATAIN will take part in the inaugural Decibel Magazine Tour alongside Behemoth, The Devil’s Blood and In Solitude. The live ceremonies will begin on April 11 in Ohio and bloody 26 stages including a stop in Oklahoma City where the trek will merge with the U.S. Torture Tour featuring Cannibal Corpse, Exhumed, Abysmal Dawn, and Arkaik for an evening of audio devastation.
Pleased to take part in the event, frontman Erik Danielsson: “We were originally meant to spend this year in the shadows, focusing inwards and on the NEW material we have compiled during the years since Lawless Darkness was released. This tour however was a bit too good to say no to. It is so seldom these days that someone actually managed to put together a descent tour package, which Decibel sure has managed to do this time. A ‘clash of the titans’ indeed! And considering the other bands on the tour, I can just imagine our management and the promoters biting their fingernails in anxiety and horror, waiting for the first arson or murder report from the road. Touring the States is always inspirational; there is always lots of emotion, anger, debauchery, decadence and a general feeling of lawlessness in the air, so I am sure this tour will nourish the writing process to a certain extent as well. A rich and fertile foundation of harsh physical and emotional experience has always played a big role in WATAIN writing new material, and this tour will for sure contribute to that. We will aim to make it interesting and memorable enough to do so.”
Gruesome visual evidence of this tour package is forthcoming: We went all the way to Sweden to capture the frontmen and women of all four bands for our special Decibel Magazine Tour cover story, streeting in April. "Considering the fact that we'll be sharing the stage with the most evil and uncompromising bands around—Watain, the Devil's Blood and In Solitude—this already makes it a legendary bill that you can't miss out on!" promises Nergal. "Watch out. We won't show up—we will ARRIVE with all the strength and might!"

KORN To Appear On "Jimmy Kimmel Live" TONIGHT!
Fresh off the hugely successful first leg of dates in support of their recently released album 'The Path of Totality', Berkley California's KORN will be taking over ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" tonight (February 2)!
Korn are set to return to the road for the second leg of "the Path of Totality Tour". The NEW batch of dates kick off on February 23 in Detroit, running through the Midwest before heading back West and wrapping up on March 4 in San Francisco. Kill the Noise will provide support on certain dates, while Korn's own Jonathan Davis will also debut his brand new DJ set as his J Devil alter ego.
Special pre-sale tickets and VIP packages will be available starting Wednesday, January 18 at 3 PM local time at the link below. Tickets for most shows go on sale to the general public this weekend.
'The Path of Totality' is another experimental chapter in Korn's rich canon and history. The album found the band shifting gears, taking a bit of a creative left turn (something they've been known to do throughout the course of their two decade career) and exploring thrilling new territory with some of the hottest emerging producers and talent in the burgeoning electronic scene. The album debuted Top 10 on the Billboard charts and was met with universal critical applause, thanks to the band' s ability to remain fresh and relevant while collaborating with electronic producers Skrillex, 12th Planet, Kill the Noise, Excision, Flinch, Noisia, Datsik, Downlink, Feed Me and more.
Korn were recently profiled in the New York Times' Sunday section, celebrated for their ability to embrace dubstep, which some have deemed "the new punk." 'The Path of Totality' has garnered incredible praise and buzz, while being featured in NME, SPIN, Electronic Musician, Rollingstone.com, Hype Machine, and even being named “Album of the Year” by Revolver Magazine. LA Weekly raved about Korn’s recent record release show, while calling it as “unique a show as I’ve ever seen.”

Opeth & Mastodon Announce Tourdates For Co-Headlining "Heritage Hunter Tour", Ghost to Support!
This is one tour that Rock fans will be talking about for years to come and if you miss it, you'll be terribly sorry. Opeth and Mastodon will be embarking on a co-headline tour this spring, which kicks off April 4 in Portland, Maine and runs through May 12 in Atlanta, Georgia. It's the first time these two titans of progressive and forward-thinking hard Rock have hit the road together and it's going to be one for the ages. Ghost will serve as the opener of the tour, which has been christened the "Heritage Hunter."
About the tour, Opeth frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt, in his trademark deadpan wit, stated, "We're touring North America together with Mastodon soon. Nice! One of the very few Metal bands of today that I genuinely like. Good people too! Ghost are coming with us as well, and they are one of the hottest NEW bands to come out of Sweden in recent years, and I dig them too. I sound like an old fart, don't I? Well, I am.”
He continued, "Yet, am I right in thinking that this tour, this line up, is pretty decent? Would you all agree? Not complete s---, is it? Hope to see y'all out there! What are we playing? Not sure yet, but considering the company, maybe we'll have to pull out the big guns from time to time. In order to keep up, I mean."
Opeth released 'Heritage' in September 2011, garnering critical acclaim from Rolling Stone ("a career record that reimagines prog as actual Rock N' Roll"), Pitchfork ("a pretty, well thought out collection"), AV Club ("wholly absorbing"), Decibel (which featured the band on the cover, in somewhat of a tradition for the band and the magazine), PopMatters ("Opeth still continues to make especially phenomenal music") and more.

Behemoth, Watain, The Devil's Blood & In Solitude Reveal North American Tourdates!
This April, Decibel Magazine is bring the North American Metal Maniacs the "Decibel Magazine Tour"! The tour will not only feature the return of the mighty Behemoth to North America, but also Metallic titans such as Swedish Black Metal meisters Watain. Support will come from The Devil's Blood and In Solitude.
This not-to-be-missed tour is scheduled to begin in early April, and it will be a 26-date tour. We can all agree that this tour will be extra special, since it will be Behemoth's first U.S. tour since vocalist/guitarist Adam "Nergal" Darski's well-documented battle with — and triumph over—leukemia. It only makes sense that Decibel would present a tour package with a sense of integrity, purpose and history. "It is a joint force of artistic adversity and sinister creativity," assures Watain frontman Erik Danielsson, "which makes me think of the glorious days when bands like Venom, Metallica, Exodus and Slayer toured together like a great middle finger raised towards their sheep-minded contemporaries."
Excited yet? Well, here's an early opportunity to score a great deal AND avoid standing in line. Fifteen premium packages are available in each market that include your ticket to the show, a tour T-shirt, a tour poster and a super-exclusive "Skip the Line" pass to move you to the front when doors open. Ministry Reveal NEW Album Details & Announce DeFibrillaTouR - Studio Footage Available!
Deep in the heart of Hell Paso Texas, Ministry’s Al Jourgensen re-opened the doors of his industrial compound studio in Fall 2011 and invited his favorite co-conspirators Mike Scaccia (Rigor Mortis), Tony Campos (Static X), Tommy Victor (Prong) and Casey Orr (Rigor Mortis/Gwar) to climb on board the Ministry pirate ship and de-construct and re-construct Jourgensen’s monsterpiece Relapse.
Thirty years and 12 albums later, as well as a near-death experience in 2010, Jourgensen rises as a phoenix from the ashes with Relapse -- still angry, still political and very very pissed off. Relapsing back into the music industry after a four-year hiatus, Jourgensen launches his audio assault with "Ghouldiggers," a no-holds-barred metal bullet aimed directly at the pitfalls of the industry he has survived. Everything Jourgensen predicted on Houses of the Molé, Rio Grande Blood and The Last Sucker has transpired and as we approach the Mayan calendar of the End of Days in 2012, Jourgensen, re-invigorated by the global 99 Percenters and Occupy Wall Street movement, navigates through Relapse once again as a reluctant prophet accusing, dissecting, cajoling and exhorting greed, corruption and lies.
Reaching back to his punk rock roots, Jourgensen and his Ministry pirates cover S.O.D’s “United Forces” – a track written 20 years ago still relevant today as a call to arms for the unrighteous and to those who feel disenfranchised by the “system” as it stands today.
Sited as the driving force behind a cross-section of metal genres from industrial Nine Inch Nails to thrash artists Static X and Nu Metal’s Korn, Linkin Park, Slipknot, Limp Biskit, and receiving six Grammy Nominations for Best Metal Performance, Jourgensen returns with his greatest achievement to date with Relapse.
Leave it to Jourgensen to make a comeback with a relapse.

Mastodon Confirms North American Tour With Opeth & Ghost!
Last week, we reported that there was a rumor going around that Mastodon, Opeth and Ghost might be teaming up for a U.S. tour in April. Today, we are stoked to inform you that Troy Sanders (Vocalist/Bassist of Mastodon) has confirmed that this historical tour will happen! When asked about Mastodon's plans for the immediate future, Sanders said, "We go to Australia take part in the Soundwave Festival, which is going to be lovely… Take a short break. Do a North American tour with Opeth and Ghost. And then take another break and come back over here for the European festival season."
As we previously mentioned, this tour makes total sense! Why? Well, Mastodon and Opeth are considered two of the most important bands within Progressive Metal, while Ghost has been picking a lot of steam lately and a tour with Mastodon and Opeth would get them in front of thousands of fans that haven't been able to experience this amazing Swedish melodic Metal band out.
Additionally, Mastodon and Opeth released NEW albums last year around the same time in September of last year, so they are both within a similar tour cycle since they need to promote the hell out of their NEW relases.
Stay tuned for more information!

Behemoth To Join Forces With Watain, The Devil's Blood & In Solitude For U.S. Crushing Tour!
This is what he had to say about this kickass tour.
"Considering the fact that we'll be sharing the stage with the most evil and uncompromising bands around — Watain, The Devil's Blood and In Solitude — this already makes it a legendary bill that you can't miss out on! Watch out. We won't show up — we will ARRIVE with all the strength and might!"

"Watch out. We won't show up—we will ARRIVE with all the strength and might!"
"Part of Decibel's mission is to push the boundaries of what a metal publication is capable of doing," adds Decibel editor-in-chief Albert Mudrian, the tour's principal curator. "By bringing bands like Watain, the Devil's Blood and In Solitude to larger stages in the U.S, we create an additional vehicle to help raise their profiles. It's another way to infect the mainstream with the power of the underground."
It only makes sense that Decibel would present a tour package with a sense of integrity, purpose and history. Korn Announce Second Leg Of 'The Path Of Totality Tour' - Jonathan Davis To Debut As DJ!
Fresh off the hugely successful first leg of dates in support of their recently released album 'The Path of Totality', Korn are returning to the road for the second leg of "the Path of Totality Tour".

Goatwhore & Hate Eternal To Team Up For U.S. Tour!
Label mates Goatwhore and Hate Eternal will be hitting the road on February 18th for a several week co-headlining tour. The supporting bands on the tour will be Fallujah and Cerebral Bore. The tour will take the bands from New Orleans to Brooklyn, with stops along the way in Hollywood, the Pacific Northwest and Canada. All tour dates can be seen below.
'Phoenix Amongst the Ashes' was released on May 10th and was hailed as "a relentless, intricate, and near-anthemic crowd-pleaser" by Revolver Magazine. Albert Mudrian of Decibel Magazine declared that 'Phoenix Amongst the Ashes' is "the best Death Metal record I've heard in FOREVER!" while the folks over at Metal Sucks proclaim that "Phoenix Amongst the Ashes is the moment Erik Rutan's entire career has been leading towards -- it's heavy, it's catchy, and it's innovative. This is the best Death Metal album of 2011 so far, and other bands are going to have to work pretty hard to top it." Jade Simonetto's performance was complimented by the highly respected DRUM! Magazine: "Phoenix showcases a far more dynamic band. Guitar passages range from weedly to art-y to textured… juxtaposing break-neck verses with near-mid-tempo groove sections… Simonetto takes the gold for endurance." Needless to say, 'Phoenix Amongst the Ashes' could very well be considered the best of the band's long and storied career.
Goatwhore is preparing to announce the details of their NEW effort. Goatwhore experienced a meteoric rise in 2010. Their song "Apocalyptic Havoc" appeared on the soundtracks for Splatterhouse and Saints Row: The Third, video game titles released for Xbox 360 and PS3, the video for the same song was used in an episode of Last Call with Carson Daly, they toured as part of Ozzfest 2010, and they also toured with Watain, The Black Dahlia Murder and more. 'Carving Out the Eyes of God', released at the tail end of 2009, was met with praise from fans and critics alike and hailed as one of the best Metal albums of the year.

AFM Records is proud to announce the worldwide signing of industrial veterans Ministry, one of the most innovative and legendary bands of our time. AFM will release Ministry's highly-anticipated comeback album 'Relapse' in March. Prior to the album, Ministry will release a digital single, entitled “99%” on December 23rd, 2011 via the band's iTunes store.
Currently, Ministry mastermind Al Jourgensen is finalizing the last mixes on the NEW material. Commented Jourgensen on the signing: "Our 13th Planet Record releases have been distributed in Europe via AFM through our partner Soulfood Music in Germany for several years now, and we have established a solid business relationship, so it made perfect sense to take the next step and have AFM Records come on board and be involved with the new Ministry release for worldwide and digital distribution. I’m pretty psyched about the collaboration, based on the response and enthusiasm I’ve received from AFM so far…"

Ministry Unleashes Cover Artwork For 'Relapse' + Videos Available of the Making of 'Relapse'!
"While I was working on the Buck Satan record, me and Mike Scaccia from Rigor Mortis fucked around to pass the time and we had like, 5,6,7 songs and I didn't really want to do anything with them but Mikey was like, 'Dude, these songs are awesome.' They weren't country, they were more like Ministry. So he's coming by in September and guitarist Tommy Victor from Prong is coming by in October with bassist Tony Campos from Soulfly (ex-Static X) and we're gonna finish up another Ministry album by Christmas called 'Relapse'."
"I think this is actually gonna wind up being the fastest and heaviest record I've ever done. Just because we did it as anti-therapy, therapy against the country music we would just take days off and thrash faster than I've done in a long time, faster than Mikey's done in a long time. He just did a Rigor Mortis tour and said it was easy compared to this Ministry stuff so it's gonna be brutal and it's gonna freak a lot of people out."
