Im in the mood of somthing hard and peculiar *Grin*
I picked some pure American metal.
They are: Mark Morton guitar D. Randall Blythe vocals Wille Adler guitar John Campbell bass Chris Adler drums
15 years ago, Lamb of God began their ascent to the forefront of modern heavy metal. A self-described "pure American metal" quintet from Richmond, VA, took deliberate steps, paid the dues and withstood the knocks as an underground, un-commercial metal act.
They will come to Fryshuset in Stockholm at the 5th of March 2009 they came out with a new album called "Wrath" Thats their 6th studio album.
The tune I choosed come from their dvd with the same name.
On May 3, Lamb of God announced via MySpace their new DVD, Walk with Me in Hell, would be released on July 1, 2008. The DVD is a double-disc and has nearly five hours of footage, containing the feature documentary Walk with Me in Hell and multiple live performance extras from the Sacrament World Tour Enjoy Dudes and Dudettes
The lo-fi rock quintet Midlake was formed in Denton, Texas, in 2000 by a group of musicians who had attended the North Texas School of Music together: Paul Alexander (bass, keyboards), Eric Nichelson (keyboards, guitar), Eric Pulido (guitar, keyboards, background vocals), Tim Smith (vocals, keyboards, guitar), and Mckenzie Smith (drums).
Midlake is out on tour at moment and visit Stockholm and Debaser Medis for a show on Sunday. I wasn't there this time but the gig got great reviews in todays paper so i thought i might bring this band in to Tune Of The Day. The gig on Debaser was sold out. I have been listen to Midlake's music on Spotify and what i can tell about it is that its beautiful vocals, clean instrumentation, well played folk with nice compositions. The vocals is a little bit to sorrowful and sad for me.
Acts of Man is the first single from the album The Courage of Others. It was released in December 2009 and was pressed on 12" 180g vinyl. The record was limited to 500 copies and was only sold through selected indie record stores. Enjoy it!
Sights & Sounds is the newest creation fronted by Andrew Neufeld, which many readers might know from Canadian hardcore act Comeback Kid, other members are drummer Joel Neufeld, bassist Matt Howes, and guitarist Adrian Mottram. This eclectic and experienced group of musicians first came together on New Year’s Eve 2006 and had an instant musical rapport. Sights & Sounds took their energized live show on the road, sharing the stage with many acts including Silverstein, Only Crime, Cancer Bats, Boys Night Out and now lately Billy Talent.
As support act for Billy 2 days ago i must say this was great energy kick of very interesting music, never heard this band before but i did like it allot, very good feeling in the tunes, beautiful experiment in textured sounds and aggressive tones mixed with Andrews vocal, perfect recipe to make the noise sound good.
Their debut full length album "Monolith" from Sights & Sounds was released last year. Produced by Devin Townsend (Darkest Hour, Misery Signals, Bleeding Through).
Todays tune is "Reconcile" from the album "Monolith" Enjoy!
Punk revivalist quartet Billy Talent used to be known as Pezz, is a Canadian band formed in 1993 in Mississauga, Ontario. The band consists of Ben Kowalewicz (lead vocals), Ian D'Sa (lead guitar and backing vocals), Jon Gallant (bass guitar and backing vocalist) and Aaron Solowoniuk (drums and percussion).
The band existed for almost a decade before mainstream success. The members met and played in high school under the name Pezz and remained underground in Toronto's indie music scene until 2001. The band renamed itself Billy Talent after running into legal trouble with the old name. It was then that Kowalewicz's connection with a worker in Warner Music Canada's A&R landed the band a record deal and launched them into mainstream success. Since then, Billy Talent has made two multi-platinum records in Canada, and continues to expand their success overseas, this included touring for 20 months supporting their third album. They released their fourth album Billy Talent III on July 14, 2009.
The III Tour is a current concert tour, started on February 21, 2009 and will end in Toronto March 28, 2010. Yesterday this tour did a stop in Stockholm at Arenan for a show together with the support act "Sights & Sounds". On the final touring leg in Canada the support acts will be Alexisonfire, Against Me! and Cancer Bats. Anyway back to yesterday, it was a interesting day, first time i heard "Sights & Sounds" a bunch of cool guys that could deliver some great music, did a very good show, me like. And Billy Talent wasn't to bad either, first time i saw them live. But they are not really my cup of the, but they know how to entertain and seams to be very experienced in what they do. Even if the band has grown to be a huge band they still have the manner to say hello and help out if needed witch is great. The cool thing about this day/evening was that downstairs (klubben) did the mini festival "Rest in Sleaze" took place, with some cool bands like "Crashdiet", guys from both Billy Talent and Sights & Sounds got really thrilled and spent alot of time downstairs to watch the other bands play. :)
Todays tune "Rusted From The Rain" (the 4th tune from the Billy Talents set list in Stockholm) is the first official single by Billy Talent off their new album, Billy Talent III. It was released on May 19, 2009. Lead singer Ben Kowalewicz has said that the song is very "tin man-esque" and evolved from an "epic Soundgarden-like riff". The lyrics are about marital breakdown, Kowalewicz told Kerrang!: "Nowadays, I'm seeing a lot of people who got married young are now getting divorced. It seems to be a new fad. Divorce is the new black." Enjoy!
Billy Talent would become their new name, inspired by the guitarist "Billy Tallent" from Michael Turner's novel Hard Core Logo. The film adaptation by Bruce McDonald would be the inspirational medium for the band. However, this still led to fans mistaking Kowalewicz as being named Billy Talent.
European Tour dates:

Thåström is out on tour and this weekend stop is Stockholm and the Venue called Annexet. Its a 2 night show. When Thåström play live i usally go there to watch or work, this time it was only for pleasure. Thåström is always good live and this time it wasn't something out of ordinary, it was very good, a nice mix of great tunes was played so i got pleased.
My friday was one hell of a day. First I was home working with my sick daughter, then I drow and picked up my wife and then home to eat a bit, fast ride to Fryshuset for a quick stop to do preperement on tomorrows show there; Billy Talent, then quick quick to the next thing to do a spotlight gig for 2 hrs, then It was quick ride to Annexet to see Thåströms last 4 songs and final tune he played is todays Tune of the day. :)
Today I woke up at 7 to get Mr Talent show on the stage :) and will be there until 03:00 I guess hehe
Todays tune is take from his record "Kärlek är för dom" and its his 6th solo album. The album was released 13/3 2009. The record also topped the Swedish Album list 20/3 2009 (same day as Thåströms 52-yearsday).
"Långtbort" is a half-slow piece in a typically Thåström way, enjoy!
Okey now to the final band that preformed on this great show! Biffy Clyro, a band from Scotland. I really liked them.
They saw the daylight in 1995 back then the lead singer and guitarist Simon Neil was 15 only.
They created 5 studio albums, their latest came out in late 2009, named "Only Revolutions" The bassist james Johnston said; "I guess a lot of it is about the revolutions in life and revolutions in relationships and those sort of things, just the stuff everyone goes through at different points in their life"
The band themselves cite influences ranging from heavy metal luminaries like Metallica to prog legends Rush, while reviewers are often quick to link their sound to the likes of Nirvana and Foo Fighters — particularly in their use of shifting dynamics which the latter adapted from Pixies and Fugazi.
The band's sound is characterised by a heavy, yet melodic, mixture of guitar, bass and drums, with all three band members contributing to vocals.
The tune I choosed is "That Golden Rule" its the second single to be taken from their latest album.
A awesome band from up north of Sweden. They started 2004. Corroded released one singel and one album called "Eleven Shades Of Black" I do hope the next one comes soon.
They write on MySpace that; The characteristic of the band is the heavy yet melodic three-part guitar work combined with a suggestive and tight rhythm section and of course the unmistakable razorblade sharp voice of Jens Westin.
They also played some tunes at the show, stand in for Raised Fists who had some sickness among their guys. I was at first a bit Oh no.... but I changed my mind cause Corroded is damn good!
They took the stage with full energy and played like a hard rocker does.
Congrats to ure award Corroded!!!
Ive chosen a tune called Inside you. This is on their Album that I mentioned b4.
As the live video was too short i also took the Only song "video" as well :)
