Black Country Communion - The Battle For Hadrians Wall

I have now reached #3 and its closing in :D
Ive choosed one of my closest god´s in this area,

Black Country Communion or BCC, they released a album this year just called "2"

Ive choosed a tune that eint that rocky as the album in its whole is..its lyrics are written by Joe Bonamassa, and the music is by Hughes, Bonamassa, Shirley.

As I told u in the beginning of this top ten, I was totally astonished when I saw them earlier this year. The day after I worked at Europe´s concert and Joe B, Derek Sherinian and some of their tech´s came, and Joe came up stage and play´d a tune with John Norum that was awesome! and I got a hug and a chat with Derek, whom i really like since Dream Theater.

Ladys and Gents, This is BCC and Joe Bonamassa!

Love, Thetania

Joe Bonamassa - The Meaning of The Blues

My # 8 is My Guitar God, Joe Bonamassa.

He is a productive man, at the same year he released one album, with his band Black country Communion and one solo album that ive choosen for my #8 wanted it higher but..aaarghh its so much good albums this year. The album is named Dust Bowl and its of course a blues album, he is playing like no other livin person, even BB King thinks he rocks.

Unfortunally this tune doesnt have a video, not even a bad live one,
so close ure eyes, listen and enjoy.

Ladys And Gents, This is Mr Joe Bonamassa!

Love, Thetania

Vektor - Dying World

Hey folks!

Its the time of the year that we look back..NOT that far ☺
Just this year, 2011.
What we thought was best in the album releases world for 2011.
As Stones said we don't think the same … So we will present 2 Tune of the day per day for some days now, with start of today!
To summarize this year for me, yea its been a hard working year, with lotsa band and less hrs. to sleep. I've been multi working and…pwew Im tired, but wtf the show must go on, as Queen said.

If I compare it with last year, regarding to good gigs…hm dunno who won, every gig has its specials… My best gig this year in music and experience, was Foo Fighters at Stadium, Stockholm and I don't even have em as my favo´s but what ever it was a great gig.

The second place goes to Black Country Communion, this gig I didn't work on, just stood there and listening……the whole gig. This is very rare when it comes to me, Im a mingler :p I loved their tunes and Joe´s guitar and Derek´s keyboard, John´s drumms, Glen´s bass… although He took some space there on the stage ☺
Hope ure following our top ten list.

Number 10 is the band Vektor 3rd studio album "Outer Isolations"

For me, this is a album that's full of energy and progressive metal, they say its trash metal force. This album is even better than their last album "Black Future" that they released 2009. Love this album much!

Merry Christmas and a Happy new year from Me, Thetania, Cheers!

Without visio, just sound.

Amebix - Knights of the Black Sun

Since we can not quite agree on a common list for this year's top 10 albums, it will be a list from each one of us on the same day, one list position in the morning and same in the evening, it will generate a lot of music here at the Tune Of The Day during these days. This year's list has been really difficult to tie together, started with a Top 50 and was sift hard, ended up that I had to go on the most listening records and many that in the beginning was obvious was removed. Right or wrong, judge youreselfs, hard as hell, I must say.

We start by presenting the positions outside the Top 10 that I, Stones have, that is 11-20 just like last year.

Top 11 - 20 on Tune Of The Day

11. Ghost Brigade - Until Fear No Longer Defines Us
12. Wooden Shjips - West
13. Hong Faux - The Crown That Wears The Head
14. In Flames - Sounds Of A Playground Fading
15. PJ Harvey - Let England Shake
16. Pyramido - Salt
17. In Solitude - The World, The Flesh, The Devil
18. Black Country Communion - 2
19. Amebix - Sonic Mass
20. Blood Ceremony - Living With The Ancients

Today I pick a song from an album that has grown a lot recently, but unfortunately it has got too little playing time in order to stretch higher and pinch a position in the Top 10. This band is actually quite new to me (Thanks Tom for the tip), Ive heard the name mentioned a lot over the years, but I have to admit, didnt really find out more about them, it has just passed me. This record is actually really good and I recommended this highly.

Amebix are an English crust punk/heavy metal band. Formed as "The Band with No Name," Amebix's original run was from 1978 to 1987, during which time they released three EPs and two full-length LPs. The group has reunited as of 2008.

By being one of the first bands to blend anarcho-punk and heavy metal music, Amebix are often cited as one of the key bands that helped to create the crust punk style. Such notable bands as Sepultura, Neurosis and Deviated Instinct have paid homage to the band.

Todays tune "Knights of the Black Sun " is the first single from the latest release "Sonic Mass", released in 2011

Europe - Rock The Night

Yesterday the Swedish band Europe and Takida had their tent tour arriving to Stockholm.
I came a bit early to se Takida, but unfortunately i missed them. But when I was standing at backstage and talked to some friends, guess who came into backstage entrance.... Joe Bonamassa, Derek Sherinian and some of their touring crew.

This is Joe Bonamassa

This is Derek Sherinian

Joe took a chat with Joey Tempest (the singer in Europe) and later Derek went out in the crowd and took a peak on Europes gig, I couldnt resist so I walked to him and told him how awesome their gig was the day b4 (Black Country Communion on Tuesday) He asked what my name was and then he said Greeeeaaat Im pleased to meet u Erica :D and shaked my hand.

Europe begun their first song, they have had a problem altroughout the tour with the electric so the sound just broke after the first minutes, then the crew was running around and changed a electric part, then it rolled on again. It use to break in the middle of "Final Countdown" but not today ;)

John Norum

Anyway, on the last tune Joe Bonamassa entered the stage, John Norum and Joe B started to play it was awesome!! I really like John Norum as well.

Here is a pic with Joe Bonamassa and John Norum.

John Levén and Mic Michaeli

Ian Haughland

Joey Tempest

More pics on em..

It was a big superice for all the crowd, one could see many smiles on those faces :D

Joe Bonamassa - Slow Train

Im still in on Joe Bonamassa, He is so damn good!
He sings and plays like a god, and his feeling when he play blues is just amazing.
I met him last night, and his BCC m8 Derek Sherinian more on that on thursday Tune Of The Day :)

Did u guys know that Glenn Hughes comes from the same area as The drummer Jason Bonham, were they also got their name from, ´cos the group took the name "Black Country" from the English industrial area, but were forced to change their name to "Black Country Communion" after another band with the same name threatened legal action.

(The Black Country is a loosely defined area of the English West Midlands conurbation, to the north and west of (but not inclusive of) Birmingham, and to the south and east of Wolverhampton. During the industrial revolution in the 19th century this area had become one of the most intensely industrialised in the nation. The South Staffordshire coal mines, the coal coking operations, and the iron foundries and steel mills that used the local coal to fire their furnaces, produced a level of air pollution that had few equals anywhere in the world.)

Anyway, back to Joe Bonamassa, he was a great guitarist when he was 12 as well we have shown u the video b4 but here is the link to it again, its just sooo awesome :)

Sorry we post this to late but both me and Stones were caught up in a gig yesterday, that u will see more later on.

Blues to ya all, Thetania

Here is a video were he talks about how he came about, and a tune from The Royal Albert Hall. "So Many Roads"

Black Country Communion - Man In The Middle

Today a Great band played in Stockholm at the Cirkus (the best arena sonically).
It was a great show, when the first guitar accords were played on the fifth tune which
was "Song Of Yesterday", the crowd started to whistle and clap their hands including me. Stones and I were there as guests for a change.

The best tune in my taste was Joe Bonamassas "The Ballad Of John Henry" totally amazing
guitar and song from Joe, and in the middle they all had a fantastic jamming part that took us all to the early 70´s marvelous!!

Stones best tune was "Sista Jane" ´cos he thought u got a little bit of Joe a little bit of Glenn a bit of Derek and a bit of Jason :) Glenn had a fantastic voice still.

Jason Bonham the drummer was exceptional, sutcha deep and direct sound I was wondering wot kind of skin he have on his drums as he smacked them up real hard haha :)

Derek has grown in my eyes since Dream Theater, damn he was a killer on the keyboard.

Anyway it was the first show in a very long time that I could stand and listen to the whole show without walking around and not listen...hehe. Both me and Stones were very impressed!

BCC released their second album on June this year called "2"

Here is the setlist from the show.

Wanna know more plz click here to come to their homesite!

Dudes and Dudettes here u have BCC.

Peace, Thetania
