Deep Purple was in town! With a whole orchestra, Frankfurt's new Philharmonic Orchestra.
Last time I saw Deep Purple, Ian Gillans vocals didnt measured up with what I remembered from my youth :)
But this day....Wow he got some of it back. I loved it, danced and sang like a maniac, their tour manager looked at me and said....u really love em huh? Yeap! Indeed!!!! They playd all of the known tunes and a bit more. The sound with the big orchestra was thick and juicy and wery awesome!!!

The tune of today, was first released 1970 on a singlethen later on the album "In Rock". "Black Night" made its way into the setlist soon after release, generally as the first encore. The song was not played in full after Ian Gillan and Roger Glover left the band in 1973, but snippets were often played by Ritchie Blackmore as part of his improvisations. On the reformation of Deep Purple in 1984 "Black Night" returned as part of the main set list. There are many versions of the song available on Deep Purple live albums.
A bit tired and rooughed up after yesterdays dancing and rocking on Debaser, Slussen. Stones and I was there and heard 3 exceptional good band, this u will see at TOTD later on this week, Abramis Brama, The Graviators and Asteroid.
On the 9th of December Deep Purple comes and visit Sweden and Stockholm. As we have Sunday as nostalgic evening, I choosed this tune.
With heavy tunes that includes classics like "Highway Star", "Smoke On The Water," "Speed King", "Hush" and numerous other hits, its easy to see why Deep Purple is such a great band as they are. But they havent been it if they didnt do the hard touring, as they do, perhaps not existed on the same basis. With a score of success-like world tours under his belt, they have created a live sound that is a rare luxury, and their audience has grown bigger and bigger. This time the audience gets the chance to see the band perform their tunes accompanied by an orchestra.
For almost six years ago, the celebrated album "Rapture of the Deep" which was a return to their heavier rock sound from the seventies. Guitarist Steve Morse revealed earlier this year that Deep Purple had begun recording their nineteenth album, a statement which was greeted by cheers from the fans.
Deep Purple has in every way become an institution of the British rock and their albums have sold in both gold and multi-platinum.
This year, again we have Deep Purple on stages around the world to satisfy demand from their voluminous bunch of fans. And they do it in a very special way, this time with a symphony orchestra. Their tour looks like this: Dec 9 Hovet Stockholm, Sweden Dec 10 Scandinavium Gothenburg Sweden Dec 13 Spektrum Oslo Norway Dec 15 Forum Horsens Denmark 2012 Canada 2 Feb Mile One Centre ~ St. John's Canada 3 Feb Pepsi Centre ~ Corner Brook Canada 5 Feb Metro Centre ~ Halifax Canada 6 Feb Casino New Brunswick ~Moncton Canada 8 Feb Civic Centre ~Ottawa Canada 9 Feb K-Rock Centre ~ Kingston Canada 11 Feb John Labatt Centre ~London Canada 12 Feb Massey Hall ~Toronto Canada 13 Feb Hamilton Place Thea ~Hamilton Canada 15 Feb MTS Centre ~Winnipeg Canada 16 Feb Brandt Centre ~Regina Canada 17 Feb TCU Place ~Saskatoon Canada 19 Feb Southern Alb Jub Aud ~ Calgary Canada 21 Feb Rexall Place ~ Edmonton Canada 23 Feb CN Centre ~Prince George Canada 25 Feb Save-on-Fo Mem Centre ~Victoria Canada 26 Feb Queen Elizabeth The ~Vancouver Canada
Okey Folks, here is Deep Purple.
Peace, Thetania
And here u have the same tune but with Mr Blackmore and the year 1993.
Deep Purple 2:nd lineup’s breakthrough wasn't as overnight as that of for the 1:st, but had a much more lasting impact when it came. Episode Six bandmates Ian Gillan and Roger Glover joined in secrecy. Gillan exemplified the kind of powerful and vocally agile singer that the band sought to develop their harder rock sound. Glover came along at first on a session basis, but quickly impressed with his natural grasp of writing, and was snapped up to complete the new Deep Purple.
The first ”Deep Purple” single from the 2:nd lineup or the 5th in order, 'Hallelujah', was very much as a first lineup throwback, and disappeared without trace (as had all Deep Purple's UK singles to that point). The line-up's first live gig was in front of a tiny audience at London's Speakeasy Club on July 10th. Inspired by their live chemistry, and with the quality of the music being written, the band gigged intensely in the UK and mainland Europe over the next 12 months, gaining an almighty live reputation. Their profile was also raised (if not in the way they all hoped for) by a performance of Jon Lord's rock / orchestral crossover 'Concerto For Group & Orchestra' at London's Albert Hall in September 1969, a piece that the rest of the band only came to appreciate in later years when it was no longer seen as a threat to their hard rock direction. A live album of the night was also their first top 30 UK chart entry, and the show was broadcast on BBC TV.
The English/American Supergroup BCC is releasing a new album in june 2011, named "2". This is produced as their first album "Black Country" by Kevin Shirley. Kevin has also worked with Bonamasa on his solo albums.
I loved the first album, so its gonna be really cool to hear this one. Its a mix between rock and blues with both Huges and Bonamassa on vocals.
Glenn Hughes on lead & backing vocals, bass Joe Bonamassa on lead & rhythm guitars, lead & backing vocals Jason Bonham on drums, percussion Derek Sherinian on keyboards
Huges has been a singer in both Deep Purple and Black Sabbath. Bonamassa is a wonderchild in playing the guitar, BB King has raised him to the sky. Bonham is son of the late John Bonham that playd drums in Led Zeppelin. Sheridan was a member of Dream Theater and playd with Alice Cooper, Billy Idol, Yngwie Malmsteen, Kiss, and Alice In Chains.
