SOULFLY Premieres Music Video For "World Scum"!
Listen up Metaleros! The first video from Soulfly's upcoming album 'Enslaved' has been released for your viewing pleasure! The video was conceptualized by Max Cavalera and video director Thomas Mignone (Mudvayne, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Morbid Angel) and produced through his production company DOOM Incorporated. Mignone filmed the video in and around Los Angeles. Various scenes depicting humanity's perspectives of some of the world's significant historical events - such as the attack on the Russian Czar by nihilists, the mass production of Zyklon B poisons, the Gulag prisons, the assassination of the president, and a final showdown between Jesus and the Anti-christ - are seen and reflected in the song's lyrics. The cinematography is by Peter Leininger; the special efx makeup is by Maggie Hunter, the production design is by Hanna Dryland, and digital compositing & post-production is by editor/visual efx artist Christopher Neil.
Soulfly's NEW album entitled 'Enslaved' will be released on March 13, 2012 via longtime label Roadrunner Records, which has been Soulfly's home for the course of its career. The label has also been Cavalera's home for the duration of his career, which began in the '80s as a member of Sepultura, who essentially rewrote the rules of Heavy Music when they arrived on the scene; Max continues to do the same today.

There Is Hope For Chi Cheng From The Deftones; Watch This Video Of Him Lifting His Leg Up On Request!
On November 3rd, 2008, Deftones bass player Chi Cheng was in a tragic car accident. As a result, he suffered some very serious brain injuries. Ever since the accident Chi has been in a state of semi-consciousness after suffering severe TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). While Chi is still in a delicate condition, his condition is improving. As you will see on the video below, Chi can now lift up his leg on command! Chi still needs your help, Click here to donate to One Love For Chi!
Chi's improvement, is in big part thanks to the work of the International Brain Research Foundation. The method that has been used in order to help maintain Chi stable is a pioneering method of treatment that could eventually wake Chi back up. As you can imagine, this is a very expensive treatment so the Deftones family need as much help as possible in order to raise some funds.

Soulfly has revealed the final tracklisting for 'Enslaved', a brand NEW Soulfly album, which will be their eighth overall. Soulfly Reveal Album Cover For 'Enslaved' - NEW Lineup Video Available!
Today, Soulfly revealed the album artwork for 'Enslaved', a brand NEW Soulfly album, which will be their eighth overall. While many bands barely make it to a third album, the Max Cavalera-led collective is still going strong two decades deep. 2012 also marks the band's 15th anniversary of making a tribally-influenced Metallic racket and what better way to celebrate than with a NEW record? The album will be released via longtime label Roadrunner Records, which has been Soulfly's home for the course of its career. The label has also been Cavalera's home for the duration of his career, which began in the '80s as a member of Sepultura, who essentially rewrote the rules of Heavy Music when they arrived on the scene; Max continues to do the same today.
The song remains insane for Soulfly, as does the lineup. The powerhouse lineup features Max and guitar dynamo Marc Rizzo (who will be performing this weekend in Brooklyn, NY with his solo band at the 'Holiday Tribute Show for Dimebag Darrell', details below), with Static-X's Tony Campos taking up the bass. The lineup is rounded out by drummer David Kinkade, a new school, extreme skinsman whose brutality behind the kit brings a new flavor to the band.
'Enslaved', which is set to be released on March 13, 2012, was recorded at Tallcat Studios in Phoenix, Arizona and was produced by Zeuss, the seasoned knob twiddler behind some of the most notable bands in Metal today, such as Shadows Fall, Hatebreed, The Red Chord and more. Cavalera also shared production duties.
As is customary with Soulfly, the band will introduce some new and unexpected elements into the mix, including a guest violinist. Soulfly also collaborates with two Metal veterans: Dez Fafara of Devildriver and Travis Ryan of Cattle Decapitation. With Dez and Max sharing a longtime connection through the Roadrunner family, it was only a matter of time before Fafara guested on a Soulfly album. Meanwhile, Ryan said it was "an honor to receive a call from someone you had pictures of on your wall as a kid."
Cavalera also wrote a song "Revengeance" about his slain stepson Dana, whose death was the catalyst for the creation of Soulfly. He partners with his sons Igor and Richie on vocals, while his other son Zyon plays drums. It is the first time Max has performed with three of his sons.
The band tracked 14 songs, 11 of which will be on the record, with the other three being made available for the special edition.
Track titles are as follows:
-Resistance
- World Scum
- Intervention
- Gladiator
- Legions
- American Steel
- Redemption of Man By God
- Treachery
- Plata O Plomo
- Revengeance
- Chains
- Slave
- Bastards
- Soulfly VIII
Please note this is not the final track sequencing.
The album is due out in March 13, 2012. It follows 2010's "Omen".

Colombian Metaleros HEADCRUSHER Unleash 'Let The Blood Run' - Album Stream Available!
Formed in early 2001 in Pereira, Colombia, South America. HEADCRUSHER’s blend of Thrash Metal, Death Metal and Hardcore climbed them to the top of the growing Colombian and South American Metal scene. HEADCRUSHER arrived in New York in 2007 and toured the East Coast. The Band relocated to Austin, Texas in the summer of 2008 and recorded their self titled EP in 2009. The tracks were mastered by Juan Urteaga (Exodus, Testament, Machine Head) at Trident Studios in Northern California, with the artwork designed by Alex Eckman-Lawn (Architects, Syopus, Hacride).
In March of 2011, they won the Road To Full Metal Texas contest held by Roadrunner Records and played at the SXSW showcase, sharing the stage with such bands as: The Red Chord, Upon a Burning Body, Kvelertak, Trap Them. During this legendary showcase, Rex Brown (ex-Pantera and Down, now in Kill Devil Hill) became an instant fan of HEADCRUSHER. Other fans of the band include Max Cavalera (ex-Sepultura, now in Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy) and Marc Rizzo (ex-Ill Niño, now in Soufly and Cavalera Conspiracy).
Yesterday, this Colombian Metaleros unleashed a ferocious album entitled 'Let The Blood Run'. In times when the tendency is to write Progressive Metal since it is the "flavor of the day", HEADCRUSHER have proved that Heavy Metal is all about speedy shredding sounds that pierce through your brain from front-to-back and side-to-side. The band is the go-to opening band in Austin, Texas (the bands adoptive city) when it comes to upscale Heavy Music concerts. HEADCRUSHER has shared stage with acts like Apocalyptica, Suicidal Tendencies, Cavalera Conspiracy, Lazarus A.D, Allegaeon, Motograter, Silent Civilian, Animal (Argentina), Confronto (Brazil), Koyi K Utho (Colombia), and Souledge (Colombia), among others.
Crank it up and share this head-crushing experience with all your friends.

Soulfly Recruits Director Thomas Mignone For "World Scum" Video!
Max Cavalera's Soulfly, announced today that they will be recruiting director Thomas Mignone for the production of their video for their NEW song entitled "World Scum". The track is part of Soulfly's eighth studio album 'Enslaved' (set to be released on March 13, 2012 via Roadrunner Records), which was recorded at Tallcat Studios in Phoenix, Arizona and was produced by Zeuss, the seasoned knob twiddler behind some of the most notable bands in Metal today, such as Shadows Fall, Hatebreed, The Red Chord and more. Cavalera also shared production duties. This is what director Thomas Mignone had to say about this:
"It's an honor to receive a call from someone you had pictures of on your wall as a kid asking you to be on a NEW album of theirs. I literally had a picture of Max [Cavalera, Soulfly mainman] and Gloria [Max's wife and manager] holding [Gloria's son] Richie in her arms that I ripped out of a copy of Metal Maniacs on my wall when I was 15 or 16. Now they're asking for my artistic hand in one of their creations; [it] just doesn't get much more surreal than that. Very honored and the song is very 'Death Metal-ish' and completely crushes. Happy to be a part of it!"
Over the weekend, it was announced that Cavalera will be hosting an online video chat on Sunday, January 15th. Soulfy is scheduled to release of a brand new album entitled "Enslaved", which will be their eighth overall. While many bands barely make it to a third album, the Max Cavalera-led collective is still going strong two decades deep. 2012 also marks the band's 15th anniversary of making a tribally-influenced Metallic racket and what better way to celebrate than with a NEW record? The band tracked 14 songs, 11 of which will be on the record, with the other three being made available for the special edition.
Track titles for 'Enslaved' are as follows:
- Resistance
- World Scum
- Intervention
- Gladiator
- Legions
- American Steel
- Redemption of Man By God
- Treachery
- Plata O Plomo
- Revengeance
- Chains
- Slave
- Bastards
- Soulfly VIII
Please note this is not the final track sequencing. The album is due out in March 13, 2012. It follows 2010's "Omen".

Soulfly's Max Cavalera To Take Part In Online Video Chat!
There is no doubt that Max Cavalera is one the most important architects of modern Metal. During his 25+ year career, he has fronted Sepultura, Nailbomb, Soulfly, and Cavalera Conspiracy, and has managed to make all of them International sensations. He has also influenced thousands of bands and musicians worldwide. Cavalera is the ultimate musical terrorist!
The album will be released via longtime label Roadrunner Records, which has been Soulfly's home for the course of its career. The label has also been Cavalera's home for the duration of his career, which began in the '80s as a member of Sepultura, who essentially rewrote the rules of Heavy Music when they arrived on the scene; Max continues to do the same today.

"Enslaved", which is set to be released on March 13, 2012, was recorded at Tallcat Studios in Phoenix, Arizona and was produced by Zeuss, the seasoned knob twiddler behind some of the most notable bands in Metal today, such as Shadows Fall, Hatebreed, The Red Chord and more.

Tommy Vext & Marc Rizzo Deliver The Madness At 'A Holiday Tribute Show For Dimebag Darrell Abbott'!
This past Saturday, December 10th, Horns Up Rocks hosted the first ever Dimebag Darrell tribute to take place in New York City. The event was appropriately titled 'A Holiday Tribute Show For Dimebag Darrell Abbott' and it featured heavy hitters Marc Rizzo (Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy), and Tommy Vext (ex-Divine Heresy and Snot), among others. Although the entire event was a complete success, the highlight of the night is when Vext joined Rizzo in a stellar cover of Pantera's "Mouth For War".
Another highlight of the night, was when ShitKill opened the show with an infusion of furious Thrash Metal. We absolutely believe that these young band (all of the members are still in High School) is the New Blood of New York Metal! Not only did ShitKill perform a handful of kickass original songs, but they paid tribute to the pink beard in the sky by performing a flawless cover of Pantera's "Sandblasted Skin".
Following ShitKill, were Delaware Metallers World Lost, who never disappoint and are always ready to party! The NEW songs out of their latest album entitled 'Empowered' came across clearly and dangerous, they also made sure that everyone's neck's were ready for BorgoPass. These Long Island natives always deliver the goods, and this time around they even added Black Sabbath's anthemic song "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" to their extensive musical repertoir.
Just when the crowd hit a drunken climax, the Marc Rizzo band got on stage and delivered the goods. There is no question that Rizzo is one of the most talented guitarists of our generation. As we mentioned before, this time around Rizzo was joined by Tommy Vext, who provided vocal destruction during Rizzo's cover of "Mouth For War" and Sepultura's "Territory". Look out for a NEW Soulfly album this March!
Wrapping the night up was the one and only Slam One Down, who split their set in half in order to pay tribute to Dimebag Darrell. Their first set consisted of crowd favorite's such as "Beer Run" and "Pour One Out", and their second set was a Pantera Jam in memory of Dimebag Darrell. During this jam, Slam One Down were joined by various members of the crowd. Here are some videos courtesy of Panchito!
All in all it was a great night, and we are very proud of finishing 2011 on such a high note! But hey, take note of this:
- January 6: The Empire Shall Fall release show with East of the Wall, Alekhine's Gun, and Bangladeafy.
- January 13: The first ever "Underground Metal Friday's" at Fontana's Bar in New York City (lineup to be announced soon)!
IMPORTANT: Shane Train (Slam One Down bassist) is a "Mono" bass gig bag which had two Warwicks: A transparent black 5 string Streamer LX with chrome hardware and a 5 string Warwick Infinity with a natural zebra wood finish and black hardware.
PLEASE if you have any information regarding them. Email us at events@hornsuprocks.com. There is a substantial reward. He needs them back!
