Linkin Park - The Catalyst

Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California. Formed in 1996, the band rose to international fame with their debut album, Hybrid Theory, which was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005 and multi-platinum in several other countries. Its following studio album, Meteora, continued the band's success, topping the Billboard 200 album chart in 2003, and was followed by extensive touring and charity work around the world.

Having adapted the nu metal and rap metal genres to a radio-friendly yet densely layered style in Hybrid Theory and Meteora, the band explored other genres in their next studio album, Minutes to Midnight, which was released in 2007. The band has collaborated with several other artists, most notably with rapper Jay-Z in their mashup EP Collision Course, and many others included on Reanimation. The band's most recent work, the concept album A Thousand Suns, was released on September 8, 2010. Linkin Park has sold over 50 million albums worldwide and has won two Grammy Awards.

Linkin Park is out touring in Europe with "Middle Class Rut” as support act and yesterday they did a stop at the Globe, this time both me and Thetania was there working. It was a long, very long day but i had kind fun afterall. Linkin Park's show is full of energy and joy, all singing along, though at times I do not recognize them when they step into the more dance-like adventure and stroboscope flashes more than usual.

Here is some pictures from the gig.

Todays tune "The Catalyst" is a the first single from their fourth studio album, A Thousand Suns, which was released on September 8, 2010. The music video for the song, directed by the band's turntablist Joe Hahn, was released on August 26, 2010. The album was written by the band and co-produced by Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda and Rick Rubin, who previously worked together to produce Minutes to Midnight (2007).

A Thousand Suns is a concept album dealing with human fears such as nuclear warfare. "On this record, the concepts blend human ideas with technology [...] Human fears, your fear of what's going to happen in the world, the music kind of references that", said Mike Shinoda on an interview with MTV. The album's title comes from the Hindu Sanskrit scripture, the Bhagavad Gita: "If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the mighty one," a quote made famous by J. Robert Oppenheimer in reference to the atomic bomb.

Disturbed - Asylum

Last show on The Taste of Chaos!
DISTURBED

This great band was ending this metal Chaos!
It was a bit of a tragedy cos the sound sucked big time!
I read in the newspaper a critic on em, and it wasent good.
But they got it all wrong. It was the sound tech that didnt do
their job right, the song mic was way to high and the instruments
were to low. Disaster in my ears.

Dispite that, it was a great concert!!
The video screens was very good placed and it maked a good impact.
They did their best!

I took some pics here as well.

I picked a single from their new album, Asylum and that is the
fifth studio album by Disturbed.
They have done 5 studio albums and 1 live album.
Disturbed began building Asylum as soon as they got off the road in the summer of 2009. Officially entering Groovemaster Studios in February 2010, the band set about self-producing the album, as they did with Indestructible. Draiman declares,
"This record shows a certain degree of maturation and enhanced complexity.
Asylum is still identifiably Disturbed, but the evolution is clear.
It preserves the elements of what we do but at a more advanced level."

"We took our signature foundation, and we tried to build on that," adds Donegan.
"For every album, we've pushed ourselves even more than in the past.
Asylum is no exception."

Ladys and Gents, Let me present Disturbed, Asylum!

Cheers, Thetania

Drowning Pool - Turn So Cold

Drowning Pool is a band from Dallas, Texas.
Begun 1996 and their first released album came 2001 now they done
4 with the one they released this year a self titled album.
They play a kind of Alternative metal music, in my taste very good.

Their debut album, Sinner, was certified platinum within six weeks of its release while their first single, "Bodies," was one of the most frequently aired videos on MTV by a new band. They reached out to an ever-greater audience with dynamic performances at Wrestlemania XVIII and Ozzfest during the summers of 2001 and 2002.
They have tour with Ozzfest 3 times now.

DP is doing a tour at the moment in the US and Bahamas.

On August 14, 2002, the band's lead singer Dave Williams was found dead inside his tour bus.

A spokesperson for the medical examiner from the Northern District of Virginia said he suffered from a form of heart disease. When asked if the band had any unreleased songs, according to a 2002 Blabbermouth article, drummer Mike Luce replied that "only 3-4 songs were done, including one called "Heroes," which is a tribute to dead rock musicians such as Layne Staley.
I don't know if we will ever release them."

The band is like this nowdays:
Ryan McCombs on vocals
C.J. Pierce on guitar and backing vocals
Stevie Benton on bass guitar and backing vocals
Mike Luce on drums, percussion and backing vocals

Ladys and gents the Drowning Pool's 3rd track on the album "Turn So Cold".

Peace out there, Thetania

Korn - 'Oildale (Leave Me Alone)

Korn or KoЯn is an American rock band formed in Bakersfield, California, in 1993. The current band line up includes four members: Jonathan Davis, James "Munky" Shaffer, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, and Ray Luzier.

Korn III: Remember Who You Are is the ninth studio album by American nu metal band Korn, released on July 13, 2010. The band hired Ross Robinson, who produced their first two albums to again act as producer, and drummer Ray Luzier to act as permanent drummer, instead of a live fill-in as he had been previously. The album was recorded as a four-piece band, using no Pro Tools or editing, unlike Korn's more recent albums. Vocalist Jonathan Davis says the album is "simple" in that it is not as multi-layered as Korn's other recent albums, but "it's about the vibe".

Todays tune "Oildale (Leave Me Alone)" is the first single from the new studio album, Korn III – Remember Who You Are. The song title is a reference to Oildale, California, just north of Bakersfield. Though the songs lyrical content has no connection with the town, it is a return to frontman Jonathan Davis's troubled past, with the main chorus "why don't you just leave me alone/my heart's gonna break from the fall/holding onto petty things/feeling all the hate it brings/why don't you just leave me alone!". Enjoy!

Slipknot - Sulfur

Paul Gray left his earth life,
Slipknot had a press conference and they said that Paul was the essence of the band and we would like to have him remembered that way.
He was there from the beginning.. Paul loved the fans, He was the guy in the band that really wanted that everybody should get along (in the band).
He was a great friend and a great person, he´d gonna be sadly missed and the world is going to be a diffrent place without him said Shawn Crahan

Sid said with a sadness and almost a crying voice that his life change the moment when he meet Paul.

Seemed that paul was a great guy,
if u didnt have anywere to sleep u could come to him
said one in the band. His wife was there as well.
This press conference was very touching, my tears came...

Gray was born in Los Angeles, California 1972 left his body 24 of May 2010.

We miss u and have a good life where ever u are Paul!

Peace, Thetania

Slipknot - Snuff

Slipknot is an American heavy metal band from Des Moines, Iowa, formed in 1995. Slipknot consists of nine members. The current band members are Sid Wilson, Joey Jordison, Paul Gray, Chris Fehn, Jim Root, Craig Jones, Shawn Crahan, Mick Thomson, and Corey Taylor. Slipknot's mix of grinding, post-Korn alternative Marilyn Manson's neo-shock rock and rap-metal helped make them one of the most popular bands in the so called nu-metal area of the late 90's. Each member of the band wears a identical jump suite with a unique homemade halloween mask. Have seen this band perform a few times and that is kinda cool, its a magical show from start to end.

Today its Valentines day and to celebrate this day i have picked a nice love tune for it, the tune is "Snuff" taken from their fourth album "All Hope Is Gone" 2009. Enjoy this piece with your love once.

The video, which takes the form of a short film, was co-directed by Shawn Crahan and P. R. Brown, and features Malcolm McDowell and Ashley Laurence of Hellraiser fame. Corey Taylor is seen for the second time in a Slipknot video without his mask and is cross-dressed at the end of the short film.

Linkin Park - Enjoy The Silence

Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California.

They achieved mainstream success with their debut album, Hybrid Theory, which was certified Diamond by the RIAA in 2005. Their following studio album, Meteora, continued the band's success, topping the Billboard 200’s album charts in 2003, and was followed by extensive touring and charity work around the world.
Recognized for their adaptation of the nu metal and rap rock genre into a radio-friendly yet densely-layered style in Hybrid Theory and Meteora, the band moved away from this and explored a variety of other genres in their latest studio album, Minutes to Midnight. They are also known for their several collaborations, most notably with rapper Jay-Z in their mash-up album Collision Course, and many other artists on Reanimation.

Todays tune is a cover, written by Depeche Mode and performed by LP.
