Fear Factory - Mechanize

The American band Fear Factory just signed up to be part of Sweden Rock festival!

Also in an interview during the 70000 Tons of Metal cruise, Bell revealed that Fear Factory is planning to write and record a "full-on concept" album,

likely to be released in 2012. He explains, "We're gonna kind of take a break a little bit, but we're definitely going into the studio at some point and start writing. We wanna take our time doing it. Personally... Mechanize, don't get me wrong, is a good record — I'm very proud of it — but it's gotta be better than that. I've got plans where I'd like to do a full-on concept again — story, artwork. Just make it real cerebral. But there'll definitely be another Fear Factory record, maybe in 2012."

They havent released any new video or tune for this new album so Ill play an old one for u, their last album from 2010 "Mechanize".

More info @ their homesite!

Enjoy!

Cheers, Thetania

Lizette & - Reduced

Our Favvo band is going to release an album in February and today they released their second single, called "Reduced" with a sorta anxious message. DAAAMN its goood :D

I called Lizette up as she is a friend of mine, to share some with ya all.

Lizette Von Panajott interview

TOTD: Heeeey Lizette, This was a quite dark kinda video, I havent listen to the lyrics yet but what is it all about? I mean u are the most positive, happy person I know.

Lizette: Its about how u begin to lie and then lie a bit more and soon ure shut in a corner feel totally shitty and then sooner or later it all fucks up, and the only thing u did was lie. And that was a bit stupid u know, just that one can consider to be more honest. I really put down a thought behind the lyrics I write, think its important.

Lizette: I want to have a dialogue with people, to get their viewpoint on the matter and mayby they can think more about life and its turns.

TOTD: So when is this album coming, we are eager here!

Lizette: Talks with the manager and says, on the 22 of February.

TOTD: Ure last album was a bit softer than this album, what Ive heard its more tough and heavier. So how is the rest of “Just Smile”?

Lizette: This is a very straight forward/In ure face kinda album and harder than “This is”. Although the tune “Just Smile” is a ballad , but overall its a much harder album. I have very much variaty on the albums, I like that. This album is so damn good, and Im just soo damn proud of it. Then she laugh.

TOTD: Who writes the tunes?

Lizette: I am, then I present it to the guys and then they play it and sometimes they have some inputs on it sometimes not, if I like it , it’s a go.
If it interfer to much with my original thought, I ditch it (laughs)

TOTD: Did u write all the tunes on this album?

Lizette: All of em, except 2, “Have A Cigar” I wrote that with Dan Reed (from Dan Reed Project) and the cover “Head Like A Hole” Nine Inch Nails wrote that. I really like NIN.

TOTD: 2 (The guitarrist, “Ink” and guitar and keyboardist Markus) guys are new since “This Is” album, tell me about them.

Lizette: They stepped into these big shoes and are doing an awesome job. The thing is that we have so damn fun together!

TOTD: Okey Lizette, thank you for this! Anything u care to say to our readers?

Lizette: Yea, the "Reduced" single is on Itunes, buy it ! Looove you!!!!
And then we ended off ☺

This is the link to Itunes and their new single "Reduced"

Here are some pics that Stones took last year on em.

Dudettes and Dudes, Here is Lizette & !

Pain - Dirty Woman

Today we'll look at Heavy Metal act "Pain" (typeset as PAIN) who was the main act on the "Griståget" (Pig Train) ended the evening at Debaser. With lots of gadgets on stage so it looked very nice. All stage accessories should illustrate the latest record which I thought they succeeded quite well. But it was not just stuff on stage, but also on the premises, the gig was going be recorded for an upcoming Pain - DVD

But it was not just stuff on stage, but also on the premises , the gig was going be recorded for an upcoming Pain - DVD

Raubtier that opened really strong before it was time for the Pain. Mr. Tätgren and CO did a brilliant gig, tagged, eager and really wanted to give everything to satisfy the "Stockholm" audience who were already was well heated up what's required by Raubtiers warming up show.

It was a real hit cavalcade of music from Pain's catalog, the one thing I could point out on this evening was that I missed the PYRO, but to use Pyro inside on Debaser is not something you do.

Pain is known to use quite a lot of the pyrotechnic during their gigs. For those who do not know, so actually the band Pain a true (real) pyro-technicians, David Wallin (drummer) which both rigging the pyrotechnic and shoots it off under the show through his specially built pyropad which is part of his drum set (Actually this is very cool to see) can not really come up with any other drummer who does something similar to this, so this is probably quite unique. During the gig did the bassist "Andre Skaug" from Clawfinger jumped in and tore off a couple songs, what killer ride it became as he came in, he rushed around as a lunatic on the stage.

I can tell a small detail which was kinda funny, when the band bus arrived at the venue and the band members tumbled out from the bus,, then it popped out a issued a "groupie", well that was probably a bit exaggerated but anyway, it was quite a well known musician who knows the bands and followed on for a couple of gigs. He had obviously been drinking a bit to much the night before and passed out, which made that a couple of the band members had amused themselves to apply makeup on him, so he looked quite funny when he came out from the bus :)

Todays tune "Dirty Woman" is taken from the the seventh album "Only Live Twice" was released, on 3 June 2011.

Setlist:

01 Let Me Out
02 Dancing With The Dead
03 End Of The Line

Raubtier - En Hjältes Väg

For over a week ago, Debaser, Stockhom got a visit of Pain & Raubtier who made their last and final gig on the "Griståget tour" (Pigtrain tour). The name of the tour is a celebration of Pain and Raubtiers old heroes. The name "Griståget" (Pigtrain) was a tour collaboration in 1993 between Eddie Meduza and Svullo. The name was a travesty of "Rocktåget" (Rocktrain).

Toys, Toys, Toys, it was something that popped up everywhere when the Raubtiers stuff came up. Radio controlled airplanes, tanks ... a whole fucking toy shop ... haha. To spend one gig days pay in a toy store is pretty crazy, there is probably no one else who does this besides just Raubtier. A bit crazy, but really wonderful guys, you know one of those few.

Their performance was really good, extremely good response from the audience who sang along to every line of text, shaking their fists and shouted right where it would be, in other words, a perfect band to warm up before the main act.

During their gig did they got accompanied on stage by the band Pain, André Skaug (bassist from Clawfinger), Pär Sundström (bassist from Sabaton) and Joakim Broden (singer from Sabaton), resulting in a huge boost to the audience and Raubtier.

A little funny detail was at Changeover when Raubtiers gadgets should get down from the stage and Pains stage be prepared, there was one of the members of the Sabaton (no names mentioned) in the way all the time, all the time is well to exaggerate, but it was kind of funny when we ran into each other all time, at one point I thought he fitted well to will the first camouflage holder (Rabutier had two large cammo nets hanging over the scene), it was a very interesting sight, suited well with Sabaton :-)

This time I was unfortunately unable to photograph the gig, so you simply have to make it with my before the gig pictures and then i have some pictures from the festival photographer Jasmin Wikström.

Engel - Feed The Weak

Today we break the pattern again and check out what happened last week when Engel opened up for Arch Enemy at Tyrol, Stockholm.

It was a really enjoyable day on Tyrol and a really nice visit by Engel as well as the good friend Steve Drennan. Were we talking about everything between heaven and earth. However, the focus was on the construction of the Arch Enemy stage set that in the end was really neat, more about Arch Enemy tomorrow when Thetania talks about the gig. Rosenhill who was the winner of Arch Enemy local support act contest opened up the evening at Tyrol, it was actually quite ok.

A fairly common sight nowadays is that vacancies musicians go out and tour with other bands as a technician, this time it was, "Mas (Masmiseim)" bassist from Samael who was lighting technician for Arch Enemy and Engel. A really cool guy and he had either ADHD or something else, as he was like a Duracell rabbit :)

Then it was time for Engel to show where the cabinet should stand and they did in earnest, the whole band looked incredibly tagged and were really tight, not surprising when one has been on the road with Pain (A report on Pain's gig will be in next week). That Niclas Engelin not playing live did´nt really matter cos Marcus Sunesson does a great job live. Engel really turn on the audience and warms them up properly before it is time for the main act. The final word to Engel, You did an exquisite performance!

Engel is a melodic death metal/industrial band with alternative Influences from Gothenburg, Sweden. They are Currently signed to Frenchtown label Season of Mist. The band shared the stage with Still Remains, and toured around Europe with Amon Amarth and Dimmu Borgir. They were also part of Paradise Lost's "Faith Divides Us - Death Unites Us" tour, along with Katatonia and Samael. Last tour they did before Arch Enemy was with Pain.

Former bass player Michael Håkansson left the band on August 14, 2008 to pursue other opportunities. Steve Drennan (Amon Amarth) took over playing bass during November 2008. During 2010, the band replaced their drummer, Daniel "Mojjo" Moilanen with Jimmy Olausson, who also plays drums for Marionette

At the moment Engel putting together album number three, scheduled to be released in spring next year, hoping that it is not causes trouble for themselves as it did last time with that release.

During this gig, I actually had "Big Mama" with me so today I can offer you some decent pictures.

Here are some photos:

If you wanna see more pictures of Engel, check out Tune Of The Day on Facebook.

Current Line Up:

Magnus "Mangan" Klavborn – vocals (2002–present)
Niclas Engelin – guitar (2002–present)
Marcus Sunesson – guitar (2002–present)
Steve Drennan – bass guitar (2008–present)
Jimmy Olausson – drums (2010–present)

Todays tune "Feed The Weak" is taken from the second album "Threnody"
This is the final Engel release with Daniel "Mojjo" Moilanen on drums.
Threnody was finished by the end of 2008, but due to issues with their former label, SPV GmbH, the release of the album was delayed.

Lizette & - Taxfree

Lizette & - A brilliant Swedish rock band that combines the world of NIN and Alanis Morissette in a new exciting world. The band has just released their new single "Taxfree" and today they released the video to it, the single is taken from the upcoming 2:nd album.

Lizette produces and records everything herself in her studio based in the capital of Sweden, of course, with the help of her experienced band members.

Influences have varied and are many. She always makes sure she gives cred to Trent Reznor though - he was the one who, unknowing, showed her witch way to go with her music.

She is a lucky little lady who works with all kinds of interesting people, who takes her to places she has not even heard of and hardly find on the map, she meets people from all over the world - all in the name of her music.

On the upcoming album (releases early next year), in which there are tons of interesting influences, guest artists and more, but this is something we will return to when the new record is slipping through the mail slot and is lying there well wrapped on the hall floor :-)

Lizette & is:
Lizette Von Panajott, Vocals and producer.
Tomas, Bass
Alex, Drums
Ink, Guitar
Marcus, Guitar, Vocals and Keyboard

If you live in Stockholm, take the opportunity to see them live tomorrow!

Lizette & @ Harry B James! 1 Nov at 21:00

Listen to an interview with Lizette on Rocksoffan, about the latest single, elderly relatives from Transylvania and much more, here!

So - here U have it - done with a lot of love - angry, beautiful and horrifying music made to create an impact. To reach the soul of her listeners and explore new worlds.

Tune Of The Day presents today's Tune "Taxfree" with the very entertaining video for the real cruel single! The video is a collaboration between "Lizette &" and their fans. If you look closely on the video you might find us (Thetania, Stones) there! Enjoy!

Lizette - creating her music at night time U almost feel the chill of the wind outside her window and sense the moonlight in the room as she composes and sings. Let her touch Ur inner core and accept the message she delivers forcefully with her art.
