As I lay Dying - The Sound of Truth
Back to Taste Of Caos.
I went up to the other stage a quickie to see a bit of
the metalcore band As I Lay Dying.
(this stage had a lot better sound than main stage)
A hard core Growl band. How can i describe em, hm.
A band who kept a hard pace with
growling vocals of a hard tattooed singer,
yeap that's what it was :)
Took some pics, but hm..it was kinda hard cos both audience
and the band was moving or jumping..hehe :p
They come from San Diego, CA in the US.
Lambesis formed As I Lay Dying in 2000 with drummer Jordan Mancino, debuting with Beneath the Encasing of Ashes the following year. At the time, San Diego’s music scene was enjoying the last wave of the mid-90s pop-punk explosion.
It is a christian band and in an interview with Tim Lambesis, he says:
“As Christians we believe in the bible and we believe very strongly and our faith is very important to us, Behemoth describe Christians as very judgmental and I can relate to why they would be so hated because judging other people is not something we’re supposed to be doing. If you really follow the teachings of Jesus it’s all about love and forgiveness.”
Feels somehow very odd in the world of Metal but its kinda cool.
They did 5 studio albums and one compilation.
The video i picked for today´s tune eint new but from 2007
from the album "An Ocean Between Us".
Their new album is somehow harder than that pretty good indeed.
Thats named "The Powerless Rise" and was released in maj 2010.
Here is a video from their new album,
The first tune on this album: Beyond Our Suffering

Papa Roach - Burn

Taste Of Chaos was in town yesterday! (In Stockholm, Sweden)
The arena was quite empty it was a bit sad to see.
But they had the gig just b4 salary, and in the middle of the week,
so what can they expect.
They had at least 2 band that I wanted to hear and see.
Papa Roach and Disturbed.
Then there were Buckcherry, Halestorm, As I Lay Dying,
Heaven Shall Burn, Adept och Suicide Silence.
As I was a bit late I saw Papa Roach, As I Lay Dying and Disturbed.
Took some pics of these 3 band that I will share with u all.
We begin with Papa Roach
Papa Roach...WOW that was something,
But sadly enough their sound tech guy must have done something that
fucked up the sound cos it was not good at all,
but still they did a hell of a gig!
Papa Roach.
This band comes from the US, and they been around since 1993
Thats something huh!?!
They are:
Jacoby Shaddix on lead vocals
Jerry Horton on lead guitar, backing vocals

Bullet For My Valentine - Your Betrayal
Bullet for My Valentine is out on tour and visited Stockholm and Annexet yesterday. Was actually a pretty good gig, looked very hungry on stage and gave everything they had, the stage was built to the standard one for a hard rock gig with running ramps and drums high in the middle. The sound was really good where I stood and light show was well done, the only thing I can point was that I felt really old when the audience was covered by 90% kids who shouted themselves hoarse.
Here is a small photo special from yesterday, enjoy!
Todays tune "Your Betrayal" is a song by Welsh metal band Bullet for My Valentine and was released as the first single from their third album, Fever.
The song is featured on the soundtrack for NHL 11. The song was also used in the TV spot for the Angelina Jolie film, Salt.
The video features the band playing while fire is in the background. Scenes behind the flames show a girl committing each of the Seven Deadly Sins. The video ends with the screen fully engulfed in flames.

Owe Thörnqvist - Gun Från Dragarbrunn
In 1953, Thörnqvist produced his first revue in Uppsala, and in 1955 his first record was released. His musical style spans over both rock, rumba and calypso, and he has also written pastiches of American popular music; his texts are characterised by word play and humour.
Thörnqvist was one of the first people to do stand-up comedy in Sweden, in venues such as Hamburger Börs and Berns in Stockholm in the 1950s. He has worked together with artists such as Povel Ramel (in the revue I hatt och strumpa in 1961-62), Anita Lindblom, Lill Lindfors and Eva Rydberg. In 2004, Thörnqvist received H. M. The King's Medal in the 8th size for his many contributions to Swedish culture as a songwriter, singer and composer. He has also received the Evert Taube prize (Evert Taube-stipendiet) and the Cornelis Vreeswijk prize (Cornelis Vreeswijk-stipendiet). Owe is also know as the first Swedish Rockking! Owe Thörnqvist recorded and released his first rock song - "Diverse Julboogie" he called it - in 1955!
This Sunday appeared Owe at a sold-out Rival here in Stockholm, that this so-resilient 82-year-old, still can walk and also manages to tear off its entire catalog and also be on stage and show off the entire 3 hours is fucking incredible. The fact that this man knows his business, is absolutely no doubt it, he has a unique contact with the audience, an audience where almost everybody knows all the lyrics and it shows sometimes in spontaneous singing, also he likes to play with his audience with both singing, arm in arm and charades are a joy to watch.
It is a tortuous and checkered journey with a very interesting story that is mixed with a lot of humor. Like when he says that Sven Ingvar made a megahit by a "Ett litet rött paket"(small red packet). "I stayed home and counted Stim-money."
Owe did illustrations for some of their songs before his 70th birthday party in 1999.
Todays tune is Gun från Dragarbrunn, a single that was recorded 10th of april 1959.
Here is a clip from 2009

Håkan Hellström - River En Vacker Dröm
Håkan visited "Hovet" at the weekend for a concert, sold out is just the name when he visit Stockholm, an incredible audience that, in principle got the ceiling to lift. Håkan is liked well labeled a night like this, even when you read the paper days after being hailed to the skies. However, Håkan is not one of my favorite in my record collection, I'll be honest, I do not even own anything with him. It was a nice evening if nothing else.
So today's song is "River, a beautiful dream" which is a single taken from the sixth album, "Two steps away from Paradise". A vinyl edition was released October 11, 2010, limited to 300 copies. "Anders Nunstedt" described this song as "An indie gospel music that sounds as if it existed in the hymnal for 100 years. Majestic, yet touching."

Black Sabbath - Iron Man

Ive been on Ericson Globe in Stockholm for some days now.
Monster Jam was in town to show up some cool shows with their
Trucks and various bikes, heavy bikes, speedy bikes and bicycles.
They all did really good tricks, it was awesome to see.
I got some pics from my mobile
I will load em in as soon as I found that ¤%#&/% cable... Hmz
I was doing follow spots with 3 of my friends, quite cool
although Im not a fan of these kinda sports.
3 times the drivers flipped and a huge truck came in and
got em on the wheels again. That was cool to see.
Non of the drivers were injured.

But in the last show there is a point when all the bikes
are on the arena at the same time 2 of the bicycle dudes fell
one fell on the ramp and the guy who came after he tried to
avoid smacking into him, so he fell as well.
I asked him how his foot were after the show and he said that he couldn't walk.
He probably broke it but he didnt want to go to the hospital
as they were going home the same night. Hope all went ok with him.
In the last show just before the car Grave Digger went out I saw this
drum set in the middle of a jump, then suddenly the drummer of
the band Europe Ian Haugland went in and did a drum solo that
was really awesome. The driver Charlie pretended to be furious
about it and he started his truck and Ian ran like a mad man.
Charlie drove over these drums like 4-5 times b4 he was done, Great Show!
The drivers are:
Charlie Pauken drive Grave Digger
Anders Flogård drive El Toro Loco
Lee O’Donnell drive Ironman
Dan Evans drive Disney XD
Peter Nyman drive Thor
Candice Jolly drive Monster Mutt Dalmatian
I loved this driver...IRON MAN
A strong car and a great driver!
And of course a good tune to drive into the arena on.

Ladys and Gents here is The Black Sabbath with the this car tune Iron Man
This is Iron Man Truck
Then It was the Best driver in the Globe...
Grave Digger!
Driven by Charlie Pauken.

1997 Charlie got the ultimate call and the ultimate opportunity: a chance to represent Dennis Anderson's Grave Digger team.
"I was getting the itch. I love to drive, I love to perform, I love the fans. There's nothing like putting a smile on a kid's face. That's priceless right there," he said.
So he joined the Grave Digger team, where he's been ever since.

Alice Cooper - Under My Wheels
Horror rock's father, Alice Cooper is an American singer and songwriter. Cooper is highly acclaimed for their great stage shows, which include the props consisted of live snakes, guillotines, electric chairs, monsters and executioners. He drew inspiration from horror movies and mixed it into the hard rock to shock. His fearsome makeup at live performances are also well known.
Many rock stars, including KISS, WASP, Marilyn Manson, Trent Reznor, Lordi and Rammstein have mentioned Cooper as a great inspiration.
Todays tune "Under My Wheels" is a rock song by Alice Cooper. It was originally released on the group's Killer album in 1971, and was also that album's first single release. The song was written by Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway, and Bob Ezrin. It was re-recorded in 1988 by Cooper as a duet with Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses after the release of the Raise Your Fist and Yell album, with its supporting US tour being opened by Guns N' Roses. It was covered by Manic Street Preachers on the CD Single of Motorcycle Emptiness. It was also covered by Hanoi Rocks on their album All Those Wasted Years. The song can be heard in the background during part of the Megadeth song "502".
Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols and Public Image Ltd. called Killer the greatest rock album of all time.
