LEGACY OF DISORDER Joins Forces With GWAR For North American Tour!
New Zealand Metallers Legacy of Disorder are about to unleash a kick-ass sophomore release, 'Last Man Standing,' and will soon be taking it to the streets, as they unite with veteran gore Metallists GWAR for a full U.S. tour.
"Legacy Of Disorder are chomping at the bit to get this U.S. tour with headliners Gwar underway," says LoD lead guitarist, Rana Freilich. "We are fully stoked and excited to be included and part of such a cool U.S. tour with such an established band as Gwar Legacy of Disorder is comprised of singer James Robinson, bassist Jason Keill, and drummer Matt Thompson and guitarist Rana Freilich.
With such Hard-hitting standout tracks on the album as 'Break,' 'March to Death' and the title tune 'Last Man Standing', Legacy Of Disorder is certainly starting to hit its Metallic stride. 'Last Man Standing' was engineered, mixed and co/produced by Sterling Winfield (who is best known to the metal masses for his work with Pantera) and mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Sepultura, Halford).
Legacy of Disorder is one ferocious live beast when they hit the stage, so it is only fitting that the quartet will be paired with one of the most over-the-top and outrageous live shows out there.
"Being part of this tour will really give us a chance to get our music heard in the U.S.," adds Freilich. "We can't wait to hit the U.S. to throwdown with Gwar throughout North America!"

GWAR To Join Forces With KYLESA, GHOUL & LEGACY For Second Leg Of The Spring "Return of the World Maggot Tour"!
Not content with five weeks of North American destruction and devastation, mutant overlords GWAR have announced a second leg to their Spring "Return of the World Maggot Tour". This leg kicks off April 13th in San Antonio, Texas and wraps up April 28th in Allentown, PA. Support on this leg of the tour will come from Kylesa, Ghoul and Legacy of Disorder.
Tickets for fan club members go on sale tomorrow February 8th and tickets will go on sale to the general public Friday February 10th .
"These press releases usually go something like this--", said bellicose front-thing Oderus Urungus. "There is a general statement about what GWAR is up to, then I say something stupid, then it goes to a list of the shows and a bunch of links. That's what's happening right now. We really have to work harder to make these things more interesting."
Oderus adjusted his tie and continued -- "We are finishing this last spate of shows as a tribute to fallen Scumdog Flattus Maximus, and will be playing as a four piece behind the screaming assault of Balsac. In this way we shall give all the US bohabs ample chance to fall to their knees in a sobbing heap when confronted with the reality of Flattus' departure... and a chance to say farewell. Then GWAR can move forward, and we shall."
The first leg of the tour kicks off with a special tribute show for fallen band mate and friend Cory Smoot, AKA Flattus Maximus, in Richmond, VA, at The National Theater on Friday March 16th. All proceeds from the Richmond show will benefit the "Smoot Family Fund" which has been established to help support Cory's widow and their unborn child. Support on this run will come from fellow Richmond Metallers Municipal Waste and California's Ghoul. Legacy of Disorder will join the tour on March 20th in Boston and will run through April 11th in Fort Collins, CO.

"All the years of doing GWAR could never have prepared us for what we have been through, and I want to thank the Metal community and the extended GWAR family for all of your support. Finishing that last tour was the hardest thing we have ever had to do, and we still have about half of the country left to hit. We will continue as a four-piece, with the special tribute to Flattus at the end of the show, in order to give our fans a chance to say goodbye to our fallen Scumdog brother in true GWAR fashion-covered in blood and rocking the fuck out! After this tour is over we can start looking to the future and begin to put this tragedy behind us. But for now we are still in "Hail Flattus" mode!"

GWAR-tarist Cory Smoot CD Release/Memorial Show is Huge Success - Video Available!
On Saturday night, January 7th, 2012, the Metal community took another step in dealing with the tragic death of long-time GWAR guitarist Cory Smoot by holding the first of two events in a three-show schedule of shows designed to support the Smoot Family Foundation and honor the life of this prolific artist, who died of a heart attack this past November at the young age of 34.
Cory had played the role of Flattus Maximus in the world's most infamous band for eleven years, as well as participated in many side projects, while at the same time producing and engineering tons of records at his always busy Karma Studios. In doing so he had become a treasured part of the local and national Metal scene, and they turned out in force to both events, opening their hearts to Cory's family in a completely selfless display of solidarity, respect, and generosity.
Cory's widow, Jaime, who is pregnant with Cory's child, had this message for the fans-
"I want to sincerely thank ALL the friends and fans for their amazing donations and support!! Thanks to Eve and Brent for organizing the events, to the businesses that contributed raffle prizes, and to the venues and bands for making the shows awesome!! You guys made Cory, the baby and me very proud!"
Show highlights included Lamb of God lead singer Randy Blythe singing for thrashers Cannabis Corpse. Blythe was later joined by Municipal Waste lead singer Tony Foresta in shearing off five years of hair from GWAR lead singer Dave Brockie's head, which was raffled off to a lucky winner but ended up everywhere. But the most stirring performance came from Cory's band mates Mensrea, who pulled themselves together for a powerful and emotional tribute to the life of this truly amazing man.
The show Saturday night at the Canal Club was also the CD release party for Cory's solo record, "When Worlds Collide", which will be coming out on Metal Blade Records soon. The next planned event is on Friday March 16th, when GWAR, Municipal Waste, and Ghoul will play at the National Theater. All funds raised at the show will go to the Smoot Family Fund. For those who can't make it and still wish to donate, they can do so HERE.

GWAR Releases Last Recording With Guitarist Cory Smoot!
GWAR has just released the last track ever recorded with guitarist Cory Smoot. Smoot passed away on November 3rd during the bands "Return of the World Maggot Tour", from a coronary artery thrombosis brought about by his pre-existing coronary artery disease. Cory adopted the role of Gwar’s red-faced, white-dreadlocked, dinosaur-shoulder-padded alien guitarist, "Flattus Maximus", in 2002, Smoot was considered by fans as the “True Flattus” since he was the longest serving axman to play the character. He was also a major songwriter on the four Gwar albums he played on. After his death, bandleader Oderus Urungus announced that the character Flattus Maximus would be retired.
Gwar’s cover of Dayglo Abortions’ 1993 anti-censorship anthem “Isn’t This Disgusting,” is now available on iTunes. All proceeds from the track will got to the Smoot Family Fund. The single will be included on the Dayglo Abortions tribute album, which will be released next year.
“The Dayglos have always been one of my favorite bands ever since we played a show with them 25 years ago. So when we heard about this project we were completely stoked, not just with the idea, but the song selected for us. It pretty much sums up my whole attitude. But I had no idea it would the last time I worked with Cory Smoot in the studio. This track has Cory’s last studio leads, and as usual, they fucking rip. Cory may have left us but his music will live forever. CRANK IT!” - Gwar frontman Oderus Urungus
In other GWAR related news, Oderus and Balsac were recently "hired" by MTV's Next Movie to review the new Steven Spielberg's new epic, "War Horse". Are your Mutant Overlords the next Siskel and Ebert???

GWAR Forced to Cancel "Return of the World Maggot" European Tour!
The European leg of GWAR's "Return of the World Maggot" tour, scheduled to kick off in January 2012 has been canceled after several promoters pulled the plug on shows, citing poor ticket sales.
GWAR spokesman Dave Brockie commented on the tour's cancellation:
"Several of the promoters were alarmed by the low ticket sales, and they decided to start pulling the plug on shows. It got to the point where we had lost so many shows that we simply could not afford to do the tour.
"We are super disappointed that this happened, and we apologize to all of our European fans for canceling the tour. We did everything we could possibly do to save it, but it just didn't work out. The tickets are fully refundable so make sure you get your money back!"
In other GWAR related news, Oderus and Balsac were recently "hired" by MTV's Next Movie to review the new Steven Spielberg's new epic, "War Horse". Are your Mutant Overlords the next Siskel and Ebert???
