Machine Head - This Is The End

Number 4
of the best Albums - 2011

"Unto The Locust" is a album that contains almost everything and executed in a brilliant way. Their new musical path is a wise choice, the best thing they've done and actually managed to combine a highly effective record.. An impressive sequel to "The Blackening"

Todays tune is "This Is The End"

Machine Head - Locust

Today we announce the last band on "The Eighth Plague Tour" -package, the main act Machine Head. May tell you that during the soundcheck did their American sound engineer run all in on the volume to see how the stuff could work out, it was so high that the dust fell from the ceiling, the walls rattled and all the gauges went to the bottom. Not even earplugs helped here and sound engineers runned all this without earplugs no wonder he said WHAT in every other sentence.

Machine Head had a little video interviews, photoshoots etc during the evening before the doors, Roadrunner was there to do a review of both Robb Flynns and Phil Demmel guitar pedals and of course a meet and greet with fans.

After Bring Me The Horizon set was finished and while changeover is ongoing and Bring Me The Horizon stuff picked down, one could note that much of the audience changed to a slightly older and more mature crowd of metal fans, you hear how they warmed up with "Machine Fucking Head", now is all the bright tones gone.

Once it is time for the band to kick loose they will do it furious and it becomes an incredible tensile inside the arena for both music wise and audience wise. It's neat, wicked, mean and incredibly well played. The light is really nice and projector that plays on a backdrop and the two side sections fits in well in the harsh environment. The song "The Blood, The Sweat, The Tears" dedicated "LG" singer of Entombed, who was also is there this evening, as usual:) A Swedish flag throwns up on stage and "Flynn" wrap himselves in it while he holding a speech and invites the audience on a drink.

Overall, This package of awesome bands was an incredible successful move, they all did a really good show and maybe one of the best sofar with Machine Head. So

Bring Me The Horizon - Chelsea Smile

The british metalcore band Bring Me The Horizon gets up on stage as the evening's third band during Machine Head's flag and festival package's main support band. You find out right away that there is a different type of audience that would like to see this band. The slightly older crowd step aside and go to the bar that fills up quickly. When the band gets on so well is great joy among the younger female part of the audience. Setlist is mixed this time with both new and previously records . Here you can could witness that mosh pits and circle pits was formed and it becomes like that wonderfully insane. The band clear the hell on stage got damn what a energy the guys have. Oliver Sykes is exactly like a released monkey who had been trapped for a long time, the runs around like a maniac and climbing on everything that can be climbed on.

Almost the entire evening stood those lightly dressed young girls off at Bring Me The Horizon's bus and waited for the band would pass by, so they could get some pictures, autographs and maybe a hug, christ's cold outside! Burr!

DevilDriver - You Make Me Sick

Band two during Machine Head's flag was DevilDriver, a band that I actually have previously acquainted on with. Their album "Pray for Villains" was really good and actually have spinning alot at home. Frontman Dez Fafara(ex-Coal Chamber) feels like a classic rock guy, laid back and a bit scary, he got his first tattoo at the age of the 16. He has a large assortment of tattoos, including a tribal tattoo on his chin (which is not so common in today's rock world) and I mean obviously his chin tattoo. Tattos in general are very common in the rock world.

DevilDriver is very diligent on touring, later they were out with Arch Enemy and Skelletonwitch. Their gig at the Arenan, Fryshuset was tight, but slightly out of focus, was because they were out too early?, Well Darkest Hour rocked on really well, which was the first band out. Maybe not quite their day, it was still ok.

DevilDriver is an American heavy metal band from Santa Barbara, California, formed in 2002. The band was originally named Deathride, however, due to copyright issues and the name being taken by several bands, Deathride changed its name to DevilDriver, which refers to bells Italian witches used to drive evil forces away.

Here is some pictures from the show:

Todays tune "You Make Me Sick" is taken from the fifth and latest studio album "Beast"

Darkest Hour - Demon(s)

Machine Head with friends visited Sweden, their second gig during the European tour. Arenan, Fryshuset was their hangout during this evening. Darkest Hour was the first band out during that evening, a bunch of incredible "Down to Earth" dudes. One odd thing was that the guys really liked purple, Mike C had dyed his hair purple, John H was dressed in purple, Mike S had a purple t-shirt, their guitar case was purple. At one point I actually had to ask why all this purple, Mike C said "We just want to be a little crazy"

Darkest Hour is an American heavy metal band from Washington, D.C., formed in 1995. Though failing to break early in their career, the band has received acclaim for their albums Undoing Ruin, Deliver Us, and The Eternal Return. The latest and seventh release from the band is "The Human Romance". The album was released on February 22, 2011

Current members

* Mike Schleibaum – guitar (1995–present)
* Ryan Parrish – drums (1999–present)
* Paul Burnette – bass guitar (2001–present)

Here is some pictures from the show:
