Dropkick Murphys - Going Out In Style

Dropkick Murphys are an Irish-American Celtic punk band formed in Quincy, Massachusetts. Their influences include Stiff Little Fingers, The Pogues, The Clash, AC/DC, and the Swingin’ Utters.

The band has made a name for itself as a result of its extensive worldwide touring, and its St. Patrick's Day weekend shows, which are held in and around Boston. The group is also famous for their patronage of the Boston Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins. Each year the band breaks house records when their live shows celebrating St. Patrick¹s Day go on sale. These shows are the peak of the band¹s touring calendar and every year fans from all over the world travel to Boston just for a chance to become part of this unique experience.

Todays tune ”Going Out in Style” is the title track from their latest and seventh studio album and was released on March 1, 2011.

Going Out in Style is a concept album and takes the band's own personal experiences and family folklore and roll them into the story of a fictional character named Cornelius Larkin. Going Out in Style traces the journey of Larkin, whether it's the Irish immigrant's first person account of his own wake or the band's in depth interpretation of his life and lineage throughout the album's lyrics. According to bassist/vocalist, Ken Casey, "Cornelius has passed on to the other side, and the album becomes a retrospective of his life”.

The album also features guest appearances by Bruce Springsteen, NOFX vocalist Fat Mike, Chris Cheney from The Living End and actor/comedian Lenny Clarke.

The Gaslight Anthem - The Patient Ferris Wheel

This American band visited Stockholm yesterday at Debaser Medis.
It was filled to overflowing.
The audience was quite lyrical, they sang in almost all the songs
the band did, quite fantastic to see how much they liked what they
saw and heard. The music was a bit of Indie like but with a harder,
rock almost to punk rock.

It wasent that much air in concert hall at the end, im suprised
that the crowd jumped and sang so much at the end.
Oups Just saw a bit of me in that pic, ah well.

His lyrics was quite cool and did have a lot of it and the crowd
remembered it all..quite amazing to see.
Its not my cup of tea but its was rocking.

This band started up in 2005 in New Jersey.
The released 3 album,
the latest in 2010 its called American Slang.

Members are:
Brian Fallon on lead vocals, guitar
Alex Rosamilia on guitar, backing vocals
Alex Levine on bass, backing vocals
Benny Horowitz on drums, percussion, tambourine
Touring members

It looked like the had a thing for Totems or fancy small
animals that they had on their pa.
