3 INCHES OF BLOOD Reveal Details For 'Long Live Heavy Metal'!
Canadian Metallers 3 INCHES OF BLOOD will be releasing their fifth studio album, 'Long Live Heavy Metal', on March 27th via Century Media Records. What can fans expect? "Fans can expect a blast of pure Metal assured to leave no face unmelted!"
'Long Live Heavy Metal' will be the fifth musical chapter from a band that is considered one of the best Canadian Metal exports when it comes to Heavy Music. Here is what guitarist Justin Hagberg had to say about 'Long Live Metal':
"'Long Live Heavy Metal' is the fifth chapter in the book of 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, and we couldn't be more pleased and proud of our new onslaught of honest Heavy Metal."
This time around, the band recruited producer and engineer Terry "Sho" Murray (CITY OF FIRE, EXHIBITIONISTS), who worked with the band on their seven-inch single, 'Anthems For The Victorious'. This is what vocalist Cam Pipes had to say about the bands next musical mission:
"When a band is releasing a new record, they often speak about it being their most important work or best album to date. Regardless of how clichéd either statement may sound, I think we would say both apply to this album. All of us have a special feeling about this one. We're more committed than ever to the cause of real, honest, no-bullshit Heavy Metal. No trends, no fucking around!"

Folk Metallers Scythia Unleash Holiday Song "...Of Santa"
Folk Metal clan Scythia have released a holiday tune for fans called "...Of Santa", this is what vocalist/guitarist Dave Khan had to say about this.
"Christmas has all the right elements of folk Metal: it's dark and wintry, it involves magic, and there's plenty of ale and mead. This year, we figured it was time to pay homage to the season by creating our very own Scythian Christmas tale."
In addition as the 2011 year is coming to an end, Scythia have been mentioned on a few Top 2011 lists for this year's sophomore release "...Of Exile". Decibel Magazine named Scythia's "Oboe of Death" the #2 of Top 5 Non-Metal Instruments on a 2011 Album. Check it out on their January 2012 issue (Page #54).
E.V.'s Underground on CKCU 93.1 FM (Ottawa) has mentioned Scythia on their list "A Baker's Dozen Essential Albums & Tracks for 2011".
"Canadian folk Metal mavens Scythia and their sophomore offering "...Of Exile" is a tale of epic lyrics & epic playing, including the band's self-described "oboe of death". The rollicking, fun and exceedingly silly "Hobarth's Inn", features a goat at the very end." - WSCA 106.1 FM (Portsmouth, NH) 2011 most played Metal & lists of favorites Named Scythia as one of the bands from 2011 you should listen to (if you aren't already).
In 2010, Scythia released its debut, “…Of War” (originally with violin) which was produced by Shaun Thingvold who has engineered on projects with SYL, Fear Factory, Darkest Hour and many more. Now, following some line-up changes, Scythia will be releasing its second album “…Of Exile”, again produced by Shaun Thingvold September 23, 2011.
