The Baseballs - Umbrella
The Baseballs is a German Rock'n'roll cover band founded in Berlin in 2007. They became popular with rock'n'roll versions in the style of the 50s of modern hits such as Umbrella by Rihanna and Hot'n Cold by Katy Perry.
Well, if this song was released back in the 50's this would have been a huge hit, that i am almost sure at. Even if i not into music as Rihanna or Katy Perry, the tune "Umbrella" is a real head glue. I have earlier post a little heavier version of this tune with the Swedish band "Lillasyster", the link for that one is below if interested.
The Baseballs new record "Strike" includes the tunes as "Umbrella", "Hot N Cold" also some great done covers as Ushers "Love In This Club" and Roxette's "The Look among others. A nice word from one of the members that calls himself Basti
"If you wanted to rebel against your parents you just had to grow a forelock and put on a leather jacket," "Nowadays you can hardly shock your parents anymore - unless you decide to become an investment banker." :)
Todays tune "Umbrella" done by The Baseballs. The song was written by Terius Nash, Christopher Stewart, Kuk Harrell and Jay-Z and produced by Stewart.
Trivia : Todays tune was written with American pop superstar Britney Spears in mind, with whom Stewart had previously worked with in the 2003 song "Me Against the Music". Stewart and Nash thought that Spears, who had "her personal life ... a little out of control" at the time, needed a hit as musical comeback. Spears was working on her fifth album, Blackout, so they sent a copy of the demo to Spears' management. However, Spears did not hear of the song because her label rejected it, claiming they had enough songs for her to record.
