Seasick Steve - Cut My Wings

Seasick Steve an old friend on Tune Of The Day, Steve is on the way to release a new album "Man From Another Time" on October 19. I have been listning to it on his MySpace and its sounding great, nice swamp blues. A little more laid back and thought thru album. I really like his way to bend his strings and how he is making his tunes, its with a great feeling and its well done, this is a record that i need to get, thats for sure.
So if you like him, check up his MySpace for a taste.
During this release there is a opportunity to get hands on a nice bundle package of his latest thing.
Check the Stevie shop on seasicksteve.com you'll see that in addition to the exclusive website version of the album itself, with 2 bonus tracks and a fold-out poster of the full artwork, we've put together a limited edition 'bundle' which will include the website version of the album itself, plus a 12" gatefold vinyl album, 12" print of the artwork, sew-on patch, t-shirt, and tote bag!! And when you are on to it already, sign up for his mailing list and you will get three live tracks, is that a killer or what!!

About Seasick Steve name, well..."because it's just true: He always get seasick." When he was ill on a cruise in Norway, later in his life, a friend began playfully using the name and it stuck.

Seasick Steve currently live in Norway and the UK and has three grown-up sons.
One of his sons, Didrik, is an illustrator who designed the artwork and website of the "I Started Out With Nothin and i Still Got Most of it Left" album. His youngest son, Paul Martin Wold, played drums on Dog House Music and first made a guest appearance with him on percussion/drums at the Astoria in January, 2008 and has since performed with Seasick Steve frequently, playing washboard, shakers, tambourine, floor tom and occasionally guitar. He also works as Steve's guitar-tech. Paul Martin Wold, aka Wishful Thinking will be releasing his debut album 'A Waste of Time Well Spent' on November 2, 2009 and will showcase a selection from the album whilst touring the UK with Seasick Steve.

Todays tune is taken from his 2:nd album "Dog House Music". Im sure more will come as soon as the new record is out, in the mean time enjoy this tune!

and paid a visit at Sturehof.
Then on Sunday they did a very happy and energic gig.
With a lots of pyro!

The band also joined the lineups of both the
Lollapalooza festival and Woodstock 1994,
where they started an infamous mud fight.
During the concert, a security guard mistook
bassist Mike Dirnt for a stage-invading fan and
punched out some of his teeth.
Viewed by millions via pay-per-view television,
the Woodstock 1994 performance further aided Green Day's
growing publicity and recognition,
and helped push its album to eventual diamond status.

Here is a Tune from their latest album "21st Century Breakdown"
(the 8th studio album)

Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way

Fleetwood Mac was in town!
Boy was that a nostalgic trip!!

Even if the band enjoyed more modest success in the
intervening period between 1971 and 1974, it was a big thrill!

Fleetwood Mac is
Lindsey Buckingham
Mick Fleetwood
John McVie
Stevie Nicks

I saw some sad articles about em after but F**K The Duck
This was good! Their songs still holds!
I was very amazed over that Lindseys gitarr solo....AWESOME!
Although Stevie Nicks was a bit stiff but hey, she is 61 year old.
AWESOME :)

They had 6 screens thats called led wall, (light-emitting diode wall)
That were attached in each corner so they can slide
down up and on the side etc..
These were behind and above them,
one can sadly not see em so good in this video.

Fleetwood Mac are a British rock band formed in 1967
which have experienced a high turnover of personnel
and varied levels of success.

Much drama surrounded the band, The marrige between
the first girl that sang for Fleetwood Mac Christine McVie
and the bass player John McVie.
And also Lindsey and Stevie had a romantic relationship
that also ended under the same year 1976, even Mick was
divorcing his wife Jenny, this was a hard time for Fleetwood Mac.

Pressure was put on Fleetwood Mac to release a successful
follow-up album, which, when combined with its new-found wealth,
led to creative and personal tensions,
fuelled by large amounts of drug and alcohol consumption.

So its quite a thing that the band its still alive and rocking!
Think they broke up 1995 but reformed in March of 1997.
In 1998 Christine McVie left the band.

But even then THEY CONTINUED...Amazing..

The group did 17 studio albums and around 6 live one´s

Damn Im talking here...

The video Im showing to u have a e-mail on it, ignore it if u want :)
It was the best sound and lights on that one, so excuse me !

Ill give you Go my own way that comes from the album that they
did under the hard and dramatic period I told u about
and its name is "Rumours"

Enjoy Ladys and Gentlemen`

Peace, Thetania

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Texas Flood

Stevie Ray Vaughan (born Stephen Ray Vaughan; October 3, 1954 – August 27, 1990) was an American guitarist, singer and songwriter. Texas Flood is an electric blues album released in 1983. Although "Texas Flood" has three verses of lyrics, the song is more of a long guitar solo, allowing Vaughan to show off his characteristic electric blues style. More popular than any blues album in nearly twenty years, Texas Flood was a surprise success for Vaughan. The album was recorded in only three days, at Jackson Browne's personal recording studio, in 1982 since the band had been playing many live sets beforehand.

Enjoy this Long version of the great Texas Flood.

Europe - Start From The Dark

I just have to show u some more Europe.
This is a totally blowout for me as I have always been into
hard rock as Sabbath and Led Zeppelin as a youngster and now
even harder stuff.
Europe has always been a bit "not hard enough"

Then Europe released "Start from the dark"....
I heard them on the radio and just runned
and bought it and even BOUGHT a ticket to their concert in
Hovet (I rarely buy as work with concerts).
But I couldnt miss it...Sitting there and damn even "Final Countdown"
was a thrill.. I was amazed!
Got gose bums when the sound battered,
and the whole Hovet continue to sang the song for about 3 minutes.

NEWS!!!!!
Europe have a gig here in Stockholm at the 28th of December 2009.
Im gonna work thats for sure :D

Ah well here is the the song with the same name!

DIG IT!

Love, Thetania

Alice In Chains - Check My Brain

Alice in Chains is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1987 by guitarist Jerry Cantrell and vocalist Layne Staley. The band is known for its distinct vocal style which often included the harmonized vocals of Staley and Cantrell.
Alice in Chains was plagued by extended inactivity due to Layne Staley's problems with substance abuse, culminating in his death in 2002. They reunited in 2005 with new lead vocalist William DuVall and released Black Gives Way to Blue, their first studio album in 14 years, on September 29, 2009.
So how does this new album sound like?
Even if replacing Staley is not the easiest way to do and it needs some guts to make it real and also to keep the status and be able to make any success with the upgrade of a already existing trademark.

New singer William DuVall – a hardcore singer from Atlanta, Georgia and has a voice and a way to sing that is almost the same as Staley.
The new album is truly deliver the trademark of Alice In Chains,
tunes as the single Check My Brain has the great melodic sound with great riffs and a chorus that you could build a supermarket on.
The title track is a touching ballad with guest appearance by Elton John and it's a tribute to Layne Staley, or the tune A Looking In View with the Psychedelic touch of Pop with real heavy guitar riffs almost that Cantrell is have been dreaming of Tony Iommi.

The fact that Alice in Chains still sound like Alice in Chains means that Staley’s tainted talent will never be forgotten, Black Gives Way to Blue is an overwhelming great album and its highly recommended.
