High Spirits is a High-Energy Rock band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 2009. "Another Night" is the "proper first album" that was released in the end of last year. The "first non proper album" selftitled "the white album" was only a collection of demos of the very beginning. High Spirits is a band that actually just have one member, Chris Black (Nachtmystium, Dawnbringer), plays bass and sings. The rest of the band is comprised of live members.
Another Nights sound like you would expect from a Heavy Metal (Hard Rock) band in the early eighties, a straight forward rock with all the traditional early foundation. If you are into early Hard Rock or NWOBHM then this is something for you, check it up! And hell yes, it's released on Vinyl! (The Vinyl Version, HRR 191, limited to 750 copies, 250 x solid purple + 500 x black vinyl, lyric sleeve, poster)
Todays tune "Full Power" is taken from album Another Night, released 2011

One of this year's surprise, that these old men could get a record that swings as good as this was almost non-existence. Call To Arms is very familiar with their roots but created with an incredible desire. Clearly Saxons best album of this century. They keep the balance of the classic 80 metal and the 90's, freshening it up with a modern sound, the band is tight as undersized glove. Call To Arms hits you in the face like a sledgehammer.
Here is "Surviving Against the Odds" from "Call To Arms", Enjoy!
Eurovision Song Contest has begun (The Swedish Trials), no it does not interest me particularly, however Pernilla Andersson will perform, so I hope she wins it all, that’s about as much as i know about it.
Today has been fooling around with videos, html code and a lot more and Motörhead have helped me around and have been my friend all day. So today I pick a song from one of the records that has being played.
Inferno is the seventeenth album by the British band Motörhead. Released in 2004, it features some heavy tracks (like "Terminal Show" and "In the Name of Tragedy"), but also some rock'n'roll tracks ("Killers", "Life's a Bitch”). Guitarist Steve Vai plays on "Terminal Show" and "Down on Me". "In the Black" was featured in the video game Brütal Legend.
Todays tune ”Whorehouse Blues” is taken from Inferno, also was released as a LIMITED EDITION 7" PICTURE CLEAR VINYL Hand numbered 500 copies. ”Whorehouse Blues” is an acoustic track, which reflects on the thirty years of Motörhead's existence. Enjoy!
UFO are an English rock band, who were formed in 1969. UFO became a transitional group between early hard rock and heavy metal and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Yesterday they did a stop at Debaser for a show, i bumped in there just to say hello to one of the techs that i know who travels with the band and of course the local crew. But this time i didn't have the time to stay and watch the show so i hope that they did well and all sounded good. I heard that Phil had some sore throat but should have been recovered for this evening.
Anyway, Tune Of The Day will of course hand out a UFO tune and some pictures. One of my friends "Michael Johansson" did shoot the gig (The 2 first once, rest are taken from UFOs website). He complained that there was no photo pit so he did not stay long, he is starting to get old :)) Enjoy the tune and the photos and have a nice weekend.
Todays tune "The Wild One" is taken from the eighteenth studio album "You Are Here" released 2004.

Motörhead are a British rock band formed in 1975 by bassist, singer and songwriter Ian Fraser Kilmister, known mostly by his stage name Lemmy, who has remained the sole constant member.
Never posted anything what i thought would be good music during the Summer Soundtrack at Werock. So why not add at least on tune from that soundtrack.
This what i said would suit as good car music during summer drives.
Travelling by car along with Motorhead is just wonderful, the album "No Remorse" is a classic in my car and have a natural place in my glove box, containing the most and best of these gentlemen, and once one's favorite track with the tune Overkill, I enjoy in full range and chances are that it goes fast between A and B. Motörhead should be played LOUD.
Todays tune "Overkill" was released in 7" and 12" vinyl pressings in 1979. It is backed with B-side "Too Late Too Late" which appears on the CD re-issues of the Overkill album. Early copies came with a free 'Overkill' badge. The song is a live favourite and is frequently featured in Motorhead concerts, often in an extended version.
The artwork on the sleeve was created by Joe Petagno, based on his design for the album's cover.
Def Leppard are an English rock band from Sheffield, who formed in 1977 as part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. Largely on the strength of their albums Pyromania and Hysteria.
Def Leppard's music is a mixture of hard rock, album-oriented rock (AOR), and heavy metal elements, with its multi-layered, harmonic vocals and its melodic guitar riffs.
Todays tune "Bringin' On the Heartbreak" is a great monster ballad. It was the second single from their 1981 album High 'n' Dry. The song was written by three of the band's members: Steve Clark, Pete Willis, and Joe Elliott. In 2002, it was covered by American pop/R&B singer Mariah Carey for her album Charmbracelet. Def Leppard recorded the song for their second album, High 'n' Dry. Its working title had been "A Certain Heartache," and the track (along with the others on the album) was produced by Robert John "Mutt" Lange.
This is the original video for "Bringin' On The Heartbreak" with Pete Willis on guitar. It was the first music video that was directed by Doug Smith, and is a live recording of Def Leppard performing the song at the Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool, England on July 22, 1981.
